PW didnt kick Margarito's ass... He outpointed him (close decision) due to his lead accumulated in the first part of the fight. This in part was due to Margarito getting off to a slow start, a mistake which he admitted to and stated he will never do again. I do think Margarito would break down PW in a rematch.

Lets not get carried away with Paul William's. First he looses, everyone calls him an overhyped bum. Now he wins impressively by first round KO and he is Tommy Hearns again? Give the man credit for winning and winning impressively, but 1 round is not enough to answer some questions that were raised from his first bout.

I believe he would have a hard time with Miguel Cotto, as Cotto is very good at cutting off the ring and fighting on the inside. Not to mention, he would be much faster than PW. I think the winner of Margo/Cotto should fight Paul Williams next.

I believe Paul was at 162-164lbs in the their first fight and was 162lbs in the Margarito fight and that obviously wasn't a problem.

when fighters go down face first ref dont usaully give them a count. the thing is I think the ref was about to stop the fight right before the 2nd knockdown.

This was the best Williams performance by far. He's never going to be a great defender -- and I'd give him very little chance to defeat Cotto -- but he was more patient, picked his shots and threw with maximum power while also minding his distance.

Some of us have wanted this from him all along. It's great to be busy, but he constantly left himself open, as Quintana proved easily in the first fight.

And no way was that a quick stoppage. Quintana was getting hit flush with his hands down. He was totally out of it.

I thought so too, its just that he throws so many punches one or two of them land and do damage. I think William's greatest strength is his reach. A fighter like Cotto can do the short man fight and get in there like Tyson though. Would be a good fight between the two.

I agree. Williams put on those early rounds in the bank and beat Marg that way. But Marg started coming back pretty visciously and landed the harder blows at the end, even wobbling Williams.
