I got a heavy bag hanging in my basement... always used to go to town on it to get a good workout, not serious boxing training though. Well, never had any issues, when about a few months back... maybe 8 or so, I got pissed off while being on the drink, and in my drunken rage I punched a wall. :-(

Well obviously my hand was ****ed for a couple weeks and I couldn't touch the bag.

Well now after hitting it maybe 3-4 times with that hand (right) that middle knuckle gives me pain. Which is ****, because the straight right is my favorite punch and I love working that thing... any tips on how to fix it/negate the pain? Something that wouldn't be a huge pain in my ass like wrapping my hands completely everytime I go to work on the bag for 15 minutes.

    Thanks for any advice.

like small suggested.. get an xray.. if it helps get a sponge or something soft put it on your knuckles and do the handwraps on it so youll have extra protection on the bag. Once again, you should get an xray

Your ****ed, leave the bag alone a long while. If your just hitting it for fitness then do something else like circuits for now. Hands can take a long time to fully heal and simply putting a bit of foam on will just make it take longer.

Did you hit the stud? i always hope the dumb ****ers that punch holes in my apartment building will hit a stud but so far no luck.

    Bonehead move.

I've had bruised knuckles before, and if you dont rest it then it just takes longer.

Go get that x-ray, find out if you messed it up or if its just bruised.

Then find something else to do for a few months till its 100%

    Thanks for advice guys.

Yea I realize it was a bonehead move.. too late now tho. This was about 7 months ago at this point.. I did lay off the damn thing for practically the whole time, and its alright day to day, but once I hit it with like 5 straights, I start to feel it again. x-ray probably the best idea.

To the guy asking if I hit a stud, no, it was a brick wall.:patsch
