1 - He didn't quit he got broke. Physically and mentally broken.

2 - I'm fine with it. I liked him as a fighter but there are others.

3 - I'm looking forward to Pavlik-Hopkins. I think it will be an excellent fight.

But you're the Newbie, I will ask the questions.

Who is your favourite fighter? Current and ever?

Im looking forward to hopkins pav to.I dont think its gonna be this mismatch everyone is predicting.Pavlik by ud..Sam Langford is the greatest to ever lace em up.my alltime favorite

    Hey noob.
    1. I was completely shocked since i was predicting a Cotto victory. (I am Mexican so that shows you the outcome was ok with me).
    2. ITs good for the sport. He was just holding up alot of important fights and also held a prestigeous title that none of the WW could have had a chance to capture to to PBF only fighting LWW, over the hill fighters, or The Big Show.
    3. I think people are in for a surprise since I think Hopkins will break Pavlik down. When is the last time Hopkins got beat by a basic fighter like Pavlik?
YOu know that all Pavlik is gonna do is the usual. Jab and right hands all day. I think Hopkins is smart enough to create a gameplan that will nullify all the basics.

I gotta disagree about the Pav/Hops fight. Pavlik to me may be basic but he does the basic things to win a fight. Double jab, goes to body etc. Young, strong, busy and basic is the key to beat Hopkins ..

I got Pav by late stoppage

Clearly an alias trying to wind people up by mentioning Cotto 'quiting'.

    I tell you what:

Watch that and then tell me what you think about Cotto 'quiting'.

    Welcome.
He didn't exactly quit. He took a knee which usually means they need to buy some time. Taking it twice signaled his corner to throw in the towel. So the fight was stopped ending technically by knock out. I think of Duran against Leonard in the second fight when I think of someone quitting.

    1. I don't look upon it as a "quit" which implies a No Mas style surrender, he fought well and fought bravely against Margarito, but looked to be badly hurt and injured at the end, carrying on when the fight was lost and absorbing more and more punishment just for pride or to appease fans would have been insane. Tremendous fight, tremendous performances from both men, and the better man won on the night.

    2. I'm really disappointed Floyd has retired. I'm not really a big fan of the guy, but he was undoubtedly a great talent and a big character, and boxing is a poorer place without him. I would love to see him return to fight the winner of Margarito-Williams II, that really would be legendary stuff! (ps: I'd fancy Margo to win both fights)

    3. I am a big Hopkins fan, but I think he has made a mistake taking this fight. Yes, he has vastly superior skills to Pavlik, but he had vastly superior skills to Calzaghe as well- it is his stamina/fitness/workrate/energy that lost him the Calzaghe decision, and it is that which will lose him the Pavlik fight too. At 43, Father Time has finally caught up with B-Hop. I fear a nasty end for him v a young hungry relentless puncher like Pavlik. I wish he hadn't taken the fight.
