No idea. Would be interesting to find out. But it doesn't really matter IMO...If Haye beats 2 top 10 fighters his next 2 fights, a Haye-Klitschko fight would be the biggest heavyweight fight since tyson-lewis.
without even fighting at heavyweight... You fool, let me clarify: beating monte barrett won't (well...shouldn't) get him a LEGITIMATE top 10 ranking
The organizations still rank you if your are a world champion in a lower weight class. It is done in all weight classes. I have a problem if he was rank #1 like how Valero is with the WBC without fighting a LW.
-nobody ****ing cares about the weight. -fight a bunch of losers and KOs come easily (Jeff Lacy comes to mind for some reason) -Giacobbe and lasse sucked before they fought haye and they still suck now. -**** you and your revisionist history. Enzo mac was NEVER "very well respected in the cruiserweight division." ****ing hack if I ever seen one. Again with this ****. The cruiserweight division is and was a LOT deeper than Gaye would have us believe. its all about the cash for him. And Holyfield was a heavyweight for what 3 years before fighting for any real belt? really...a good promoter gets you a long way nowadays.
still he's rightfully absent from LESS biased organizations' rankings like the ring and fight news and espn/dan rafael
do remember guys that haye wants to fight opponents similar in size and power as the klitschko's. he said james toney would be a silly fight because it wont prepare him for the height/reach advantage of a much heavier and power puncher in wladimir. personally despite all the crap haye often spouts he is quite sensible in this regard. he wants to to beat guys similar to wlad in size and ko power so he gets the best version of "sparring" possible. toney is feather fisted as a heavy and also short and old. aside from the physical differences toney and wlad fight in totally different styles so haye needs someone like (in order from best opponent to least dangerous opponent): 1. dimentrenko (young, well schooled and similar to wladimir but a lite version in all departments except height and reach). 2. meehan (if he gets into top shape and fights with self belief like he did verses brewster meehan at this stage would be more dagnerous than golota and briggs for sure) 3. golota (old man now, but provided golota can survive a first round blitz by haye should give the hayemaker a solid test) 4. briggs (only dangerous for 2 rounds then hayemaker can use him for target practice) these opponents are available after haye SHOULD beat monte. they met close enough the size requirements and have decent to great power depending on the opponent listed. fighting oleg or toney would be counter productive to his gaining experience for the biggest fight of his life verses wladimir!
Haye is going to suprise people and **** others off by doing well at heavyweight. Everyone likes to pretend his skill set is weak only because he talks big.
the next big thing won't take fights like this he should go straight to the top if he is half as good as his mouth lets on.
He is like the second coming of Prince Hamed. He has the talk, but will he have the walk. Barret and at least one other strong challenge will see if he has the goods as a heavyweight. I like the talk, the flash, and the speed he brings, but these Klitsko brothers hit very hard. Either way, I am interested to find out the outcome of his future in the heavyweight picture.
Just admit it, you made an arse of yourself and didn't realise he was ranked in the top 10 and now you are backtracking :yep
I don't know, Tua I believe can still punch like a mule and has that solid chin to take what Haye has to offer so that can be a very dangerous fight for Haye, I have'nt seened any fight where Haye outboxed his opponent if there is one let me know.
Haye isn't fighting Tua, Haye doesn't need to take massive risks like that when its clear Wlad wants to fight him.
1. People do care about weight. One of the main arguments in bashing haye's move up to the HW division is his weight. 2. David Haye's last 3 fights have been vs legit guys...And he's wrecked them. 3. Giacobbe (#2 WBC) was undefeated until haye. He's been undefeated since. That's a notable accomplishment in my book. Same goes for lasse. 4. Maccarinelli was 25-0 w/ 19 KOs in his past 25 fights. Even after his brutal loss to haye, Maccarilnelli ranks 3rd for WBO. 5. Is the crusierweight division deeper? Yes. A lot deeper? No. Worth staying if your a talented fighter looking to make $? No way.
