if he's serious about fighting either klitchko, he needs someone tall and rangy who fights off the back foot,no point in giving him another small heavyweight,,,he's got just as much chance of running outta ideas mid klitchko fight as the others did so its gotta be a big guy
It won't be legitimate but they will rank him anyway, he just talked trash and is getting attention like he just won a title. The division is that desperate though I agree that he doesn't deserve a legitimate top 10 ranking if he beats Barrett.
Golota/Haye is perfect if you're David Haye's people. We've seen Andrew occasionally go BEZERK from time to time (Lennox, Brewster) and if Haye's power is as they say it is...a big KO of a guy like Golota would do good for his rep at heavy. He should probably look at Jameel McCline..whose the perfect "sparring partner" of sorts as a bigger bulkier heavy.
sorry just read dragos point which sums it up for me really I could see haye getting valuev as a warm up after Vitali's battered the **** outta him,,,well maybe,,that'd be quite an odd one to watch
Golota still needs to win two fights he's already booked for. First with Austin and right after it with Valuev, if he wins those two fights(doubtful) and gets the WBA title then that would be great for Haye to go for and get, will only encourage Wladimir even more to fight him and take the WBA title. As long as he stays active after Barrett then he's doing good and McCline isn't a bad choice too.
Maskaev is extremely shot and has a weak chin, he's a step down from Monte Barrett at this point. As I've always said, put Haye in the ring with Oliver McCall, he'll have to fight 12 tough rounds even if I think he's able to outbox the old slow but still dangerous McCall. At least this fight will tell us about Hayes stamina. Or put him into the ring with Toney for a real test...
Haye is cool and he should risk it going for the kayo punch or the "hayemaker" right away in spite of using rounds to get used to the new weight. Blast Barrett outa there like if he was Macca and then go right into Wladimir's pit if K passes by Sasha Povetkin. No 2nd tune-up fight, time is money, W Klit vs Haye NOW! You live by the sword or you die by the sword, no regrets whatsoever.
Problem with McCall is that he's very much a high (or fairly high) risk, little reward though. Even if he knocks him out, people will just say "Well Oliver is 42 and he's been taking big punches for decades now..." If he beats Barrett, then you might as well go for either a title shot, or an eliminator...eliminator would probably be wisest. In which case, if Haye is dead set on Wlad's IBF & WBO belts, go for someone in the top 5 of either of those. Got to get past Barrett first of course! That one is not a gimme, given the circumstances.
