Get off Lacy's back. The man is recovering from major shoulder surgery on a full thickness tear. He looked great in the first two rounds after his fight with Calzaghe until he tore that shoulder in the second round. Jeff Lacy was an absolute beast going into the fight against Calzaghe, and after he took that beating, he has fallen on some hard circumstances. Don't start believing that he was all hype to begin with, because unless you didn't watch Lacy before his fight with Calzaghe, you should know better.
You should know better but don't. You never know better, widdow faker. Omar Sheika was the first to expose Lacy as a one dimensional slugger. We knew after the Sheika fight that Lacy was going to have difficulty with boxers who were half way decent. Stop trying to play yourself and this forum.
Yet, to this day... Lacy has still only lost to Calzaghe... who has never been beaten. I never said that Lacy was Ali... and he isn't trying to be. Lacy's style will lead to him having difficult fights against a lot of fighters, because he would grind in, take shots, and give shots back harder... that was his deal. Not every boxer in the world tries to be, or has to be a defensive wizard with blazing speed and great reflexes... some boxers are power punchers, with strong pressure tactics, great chins, and use timing to set up knockouts, ect... Jeff Lacy has never failed to show amazing heart, and would normally put on great fights. He was outclassed by Calzaghe who has outclassed everyone... and he has since dealt with a horrible shoulder injury. The man came back at what looked like 50% of himself, and still came out with a win over Manfredo... he has nothing to be ashamed of.
the injury to his left arm has hindered Lacy....he doesn't look like he can throw it nearly as hard as he used to....but he still got the job done and maybe time can heal his left....
Eh, to each his own I guess. I wasn't really all that impressed with how he looked when he was fighting guys like Alien Grant pre-Calzaghe. :conf
