That was never Floyds plan to defend. He wanted to beat the top guy at 147, then take on DLH at 154.


Hatton was a legit 147 contender after beating Collazo although he did vacate his belt (which Cotto later picked up).


The public wanted Mayweather-Hatton and he gave it to them.
