The principle changes with each scenario though. And since all those guys you lumped together have been major money makers, while Margarito hasn't, it's not the same. And that's the main point. You list Margarito with all those guys who HAVE established themselves and who usually had the ability to pick and choose an opponent AND their purse. Margarito's never had such luxury.

Not trying to argue, but it's not fair to include Margarito with those other guys who have been able to make big purse after big purse. A guy trying to cash in for the FIRST TIME isn't the same.

Fact of the matter is, until one faces enough top WW's, how can anyone assume he's the best if he not facing the best, ONLY someone or one boxer people consider the best? In your eyes, who's proved more? A guy who beats one ranked fighter, or a guy who beats 3-4?

 

It is not a matter of opinion, it's a fact.

When there is an undisputed title up for grabs then that title determines the best. There was a best in the division and his name was Zab Judah with the WBC/IBF/WBA titles to back up this fact(which you consider a matter of opinion for unknown reasons). That's like saying Buster Douglas beat Tyson but he's not the best, officially he IS and when people discuss how he's not IS where opinion kicks in.
