It would be fair if the title wasn't on the line, it wasn't fair to agree a fight and then go to the sanctioning body to install you as the number one contender so that the title has to be on the line.

If you're not sure if you can compete at that weight then take an easier fight to test yourself or even a catchweight fight to help you move up slowly, no problem at all with that.

Not being sure if you're comfortable at that weight but getting a title shot anyway at a catchweight is not acceptable for me.

 

The same reason Pacquiao cries after his victories.

 

So what do you think about what Mayweather did to Marquez who is really at his best at 130, moved up to 135 and didn't look as good as when he was at 130, move up to 144, the ORIGINAL weight in contract against Mayweather, only to get cheated on the weighin when Floyd came in at 146?

Just imagine if that title was not at stake in that fight. Would you still call Cotto a champ after the bad beating he got from Pacquiao? IMO Cotto himself will voluntarily relinquish the title after taking such thorough beating coz there's no more honor wearing a champion's belt.
