Yeas I watched the fight and loved every second of it.

You are the stupid one. An Iron Chin is a 10/10. I have said Margarito has a very good Chin but it is not Iron. You can't list him with the other guys I mentioned in my previous post. Margarito is an 8/10 or so on the Chin Scale.

And I was indifferent towards Margarito until he tried to cheat and load his gloves. Now, I hope he is banned from the sport for good. Or at the very worst he continues to get brutally KOed. He is a total and complete disgrace.

I think MANY fighters would have used some boxing moves and ducked /slipped alot of those . Mosely hasnt raped a fighter the way he raped Margarito .

So, if oliver mccall gets ko'd in his next fight, would he be dropped from your iron chin list, despite all the punches he took in his career?

I have always maintained that Mosley hits much harder than Cotto. From the opening round, I could tell Mosley's punches were having a greater impact on Margo.

By the 3rd round, I was fairly confident that Mosley would safely coast to a victory, and I thought there was an outside chance he could stop Margo.

Yeah, Margo still has a good chin, but Mosley has a BETTER chin.

    Fact!

That has nothing to do with Margarito.

McCall is over 40 years old and has yet to be put on his ass or knocked out.

Margarito is in his supposed Prime.

Either way I don't think we will have to worry about it as nobody is going to dent McCall's Chin anyway.

Margarito has a very good Chin it is just not in the top 10% of Boxers. No shame in that.

Iron Chinned fighters do not get knocked out like Margarito did.

Does that mean Margo was iron chinned before this fight?

Im afraid we are not going to stop hearing from you about this for the next 6 months uh? :yep
Just messing with you bro. I felt the same way while watching the fight, as a matter fact I made the same comment to my wifey. Mosley's punches seem stronger from the beginning of the fight and as the fight went on they didnt slow down one bit. However, been that Margarito was always a slow starter I still gave him the benefit of the doubt but when round 6 came around and he was still struggling I knew it was Mosley's night to shine. Mosley seem like "superman", did you see his forearm when they lifted his arm at the end, his forearm look like Robin Williams in the movie Popeyes, Im dead serious bro, I was like WTF!!!! :yep

No, it has nothing to do with Margarito, it has something to do with your idea of what an iron chin is. If you think that an iron chinned fighter is one that CANNOT be ko'd then there is no such thing as an iron chinned, as ANY fighter can be ko'd, its just that some fighters have great chins and others dont. If tony hadnt faught mosley and retired after his cotto win, you wouldnt be saying this

That's nothing remotely close to a fact. They both have rock solid chins and until Mosley gets hit with those kind of shots over and over we will never know which is better. Never has mosleys chin been that tested. Everyone is still human.

You also cannot say that Mosley hits much harder than cotto based on this. Cotto fought margo in a completely different way and mosty going backwards. Both records and the fight between them speak to good power punching but if Mosley hit sooo MUCH harder than cotto, he would have probably KOed Cotto and not almost lost to Oscars one punch KO victim Mayorga.

This is all about styles and what we can take away from this is that a fighter with shanes skills and ability who is willing to clinch when necessary and go for broke can beat a guy like margo who has very limited boxing skills and fights off will and durability alone.

    Great post
Shane's power is good, but its also the way he hit Margarito. He hit him with so many perfect shots thrown with full power. Its a combo of his power and his placement. Plus margarito didnt see a lot of them coming

Even fighters with "iron chins" eventually can get KOed. Tex Cobb had one of the best chins ever, yet was knocked down 3 times and TKOed by Dee Collier. When a fighter endures many brutal fights and takes an over abundance of hard punches over an extended period, they wear and tear on his chin and ability to take a punch with be affected.
