ITs regular HBO dude. I was gonna watch it at home so i could concentrate but my rents are having a party for it so ima record it at home and watch it at my rents the night of. Usually there is too many people there and are too loud and drunk to really concentrate.

I have been going back and forth on who to put my money on....

I was leaning on Donaire by UD but to be honest we dont really know what Donaire is made of. He had one good showing against Darchynian and thats it.
2 fights ago he was fighting a guy wih 5W 10L 3D i believe. And he was eating leather from him.

This might be one of those cases where the hype is more than the substance. Montiel for the first time ever hired a conditioning coach and says he has to impress since HBO banned him last time he was there. To me he seems hungrier.

I have been watching footage and if nobodys have no problem landing on Donaire then Montiel will land for sure and his powers nothing to joke about.
The styles advantage is definitely with Donaire though.

hmmmm....I've been thinking Montiel too now. He seems very hungry and as you said wants to put on a good show. But what if he is too aggressive?

I'm getting the feeling that Montiel is taking this fight more seriously than Donaire. I hope I'm wrong though, I'm pulling for a Donaire win.

But in the end... it's an awesome fight. I've said it countless times, but still... this is gonna be a war!

Montiel is actually pertty careful for a Mexican fighter. Educated pressure is what its all about for him. If he comes too aggressive and drops his D then we could be in for a short night.

The only way i see this as a win for Donaire the more i think about it is if he stunk up the joint by using his superior foot speed and sticking with a 1-2 and moving out of range quick.

He has the foot speed reach and height to do this.

Hmmmm, I've seen Donaire touched up by lesser fighters. I don't think he can do that for a full 12 with a fighter like Montiel. Montiel is not that limited imo.

Hey Saul, why was Montiel banned from HBO in the past? I wasn't aware of that.

By the way I agree with you're view of the fight. That's how I feel about Donair, I like the kid and believe he's got great skills. But, he hasn't sharpened his skills against good opposition since Vic. Montiel will bring out the best in him and vice versa. Can't wait!!!!

His first fight on HBO i believe was against Mark Johnson. Horrible Horible fight. Montiel was way too cautios and ended up losing a decision. I think in the first 2 rounds each threw 60 punches and only landing about 8.

They gave him another chance against Gonzalez. It was also another lackluster fight which Gonzales took via SD.

so HBO basically told him he wasnt fighting on their network and by that i mean main event status. He has obviously been on a few of their undercards. Lately he has been impressive so they want him back.
Reminds me of how JMM changed his counterpunching style only to a more aggressive fighter to get more exposure. Sure he is gonna take more punches but he will be better known. His chin also looks to be pretty damn solid so this could be a blessing in disguise for him turning more aggressive.

This type of fight makes me proud to be a boxing fan; it's a travesty the amount of people who are going to miss this fight cos they either don't know it's happening or havent' even heard of either fighter! I really cannot wait for this fight, an absolute blessing!

Was planning to bet big on Donaire but the nearer the fight gets I'm not sure I want to risk betting against Montiel; he's as dangerous as they come.

This fight has all hype on paper of the TB/DA fight, but I feel it will really deliver!
