Hi all, my take on Haye v Ruiz

I'm not kissing Haye's ass by any means and I don't think his performance was spectacular by any measure. I don't think he's afraid to let punches go, but I do think he learnt his lesson from his only professional defeat against Thompson and will never go all out again.

 

Mmm, I'm not sure 'scared' is the right word. I get the impression that he's always conscious that he'll blow himself out. He carries a lot of muscle mass and his dependence on reflex motion can't be too good for such a big guy in terms of stamina.

I accept that his performance wasn't 'exciting', but it was no worse than any HW fight from the past 5 years. Like I said, I think he did as well as anyone could expect, especially against someone as durable as Ruiz. If anyone standing in front of me took the punches Ruiz did in the first 30 seconds and then got up, I'd be giving second thoughts to blowing him out of the ring easily.

Meh, there's so many smileys and shiny things, I don't know how to quote you properly!! Anyways, I thought Boxrec was the site that no-one was allowed to refer to here and they always but spaces and asterisks, maybe I'm thinking of another site? Anyways, I always come to Eastside for British boxing, at least to view the forums. It will take me another 3 years to venture into Classic. Those guys REALLY know their stuff lol

 

Hahaha, **** it, I know from reading general that some people make predictions that are so bad that they make new accounts and pretend to be newcomers. I personally predicted Hatton to beat, or least put up a good fight against Mayweather and Pacquiao, I predicted that Bruno would beat Tyson (if only for flag-waving purposes), and I've made a shed-load of other predictions that have turned out to be completely wrong. Trust me, my original post is the truth, and I have absolutely no doubt that many of my future predictions will be equally as wrong, but I hope I can analyze a past fight well enough to converse with boxing fans. We are talking about a sport where one punch can end everything after all . . .
