Whatever, man. If you read my stuff, you'd know when I think a pay per view sucks or a fight is bull****, I say so and then tell people how to steal the streams. The copyright thing was not the problem for me. Not at all. I think all this **** should be free. My problem is guys like the one that made that video are a cancer on the sport. There are some good, honest dudes that make videos and are just trying to be good at this in a respectful manner. calling someone a ***** or playing one section of a fight and commenting on it isn't journalism in any way shape or form. I came from message boards to learn to do this job to the point where I am accepted by my peers like Hauser, Morales, Avila, Pugmire, Kim and Fischer. Not one of them acts the way this clown did. He and others like him bring the rest of the internet writer's credibility down in my opinion. Its easy for you to make your lil insults and laugh to your buddies "hey look, I talked **** to Montoya or whomever." You're using an alias. End of the day, you used the insult before and it wasn't very funny then. Why you're trying to recycle bad material is beyond me but carry on.
Because while I trust the sources, I have no proof what they said is true. So I can't go and just print it, ya know? I need third party corroboration. In retrospect, I should not have brought it up here. To me, that situation is like the Kermit one. He said and Lou said one thing. Then the Dr. comes out 3 days later to clear his name. And it all gets reported day after day and people go "see?" THATS the truth. No one stopped to ask two questions 1) Why did the doctor disappear without giving a statement that night? Believe me, we tried to get him to give us one but no one could find him. 2) Why wait three days to spill it? Not saying his story doesn't make sense with KC's history but its odd.
Disappear? Do you really think he went all "ninja" and snuck out of the building. Most likely I would say he did his job, and then when he fulfilled all his duties he went home. I am sure by Monday he had either heard, or read he was being blamed for stopping the fight. In response he let it be known what his interaction with Kermit really was.
No apology necessary, Lou. Taking **** wrong is the folly of communicating this way. No harm no foul. I'll talk to Matt. Personally, I think most people who speak to me are lying in this business. It's the nature of it. I'm not hurt or upset by Kermit. I wasn't "taken" in. I covered him fight to fight. Kermit and I only talked about how his kids were doing in terms of personal stuff and have tried to set up a game of pool that we never manged to schedule. Beyond that, the only time we ever had a personal conversation at length beyond our interviews was when he heard from Manny Steward I was having an issue with a former associate of mine who was claiming he wrote my stories and was trying to get me fired from Doghouse after they made me lead writer. He didn't drag me in. Or dupe me. I kept it relevant to what was happening next or to what his version of a fight was. Like I said, this is the dirtiest of businesses. Everyone is stretching the truth or lying and its my job to try and get through that to some truthful place. So while everyone here seems to think I am defending Kermit or whatever. I'm not. What I am saying is look at a picture form all angles before making a judgement. You have an incredible insight into Kermit;s beginning's (which is where most people end up as most people don't change). But people shouldn't take just your word for it. They should explore other sources instead of getting out the popcorn and just accepting what they hear from you. No offense to you. I'm sure you get my point. I hope you do.
how can anyone not think kermit quit? he went down and stayed down he didn't move for over 5 minutes and acted like the little ***** that he is he then acts all "OOOH I WANTED TO CARRY ON" when the fights over there was nothing wrong with him, he indicated to the doctor, the camera and the world that he is hurt and cant continue dont forget guys this is the same ***** who cried against margo and tried quitting against martinez.
Damn I hope he went all ninja. That'd be awesome. In my experience, in a situation that requires clarity as to what happened, the doctor comes over to press row and says what happened. Not always but it would have been helpful and warranted here. It isn't like Lou DiBella and Ronnie Shields weren't at press row screaming the exact opposite story. Hell, they got in the ring after they came over to us and screamed it again. The whole thing was a clusterfvck. No official time of the action stopping. It took an hour to get an official scorecard which is very unusual. It was just odd out there.
I hear ya. My whole point is it's just another example of consistent behavior on his part. If you knew the true extent of what our relationship once was with kermit, and how much heart, time, and money was invested in him by both Marshall and I then I think you might understand why I get so bent out of shape. I said it earlier in case you missed it... a few months ago his ex-gf calls me to tell me she met with kermit, and he told her the reason he treated her so poorly was because I was feeding him steroids the whole time. I do not, nor have I ever drank, smoke, or done drugs of any kind. Kermit never took anything but vitargo carb supplement, protein shakes, and meal replacement shakes. When I heard that accusation I felt like he went to an all time low. I hadn't spoken to him in 5 yrs, and then he goes and pulls that.
Many immature men/boys lie to get out of owning up to a mistake that they made. Not a character trait that I would want but not uncommon either. Some of my best friends have screwed me over and I ended up forgiving them and moving past it. Also, you are hearing this from someone who may or may not be telling you the truth. I don't see this as a big deal personally.
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/spo...-for-no-contest-in-loss-to-paul-williams.html Kermit Cintron's team will appeal for no-contest in loss to Paul Williams May 10, 2010 | This content is protected This content is protected The promoter for Kermit Cintron said he and the manager for the former world welterweight champion from Puerto Rico would file appeals to the California State Athletic Commission on Monday to alter Cintron's controversial Saturday night technical split-decision loss to Paul Williams at Carson's Home Depot Center to a no-contest. Lou DiBella, Cintron's promoter, told The Times on Monday that Cintron should not be pinned with a defeat that would affect future fight negotiations based on his accidental fourth-round dive through the ropes and onto the hardened tennis-court floor outside the boxing ring. DiBella said not only did California rely on scoring rules that trumped the Assn. of Boxing Commissions' guidelines, which say a technical decision can only be invoked after four full rounds, but that the scoring was problematic. One judge had Cintron winning all four rounds, another had Williams winning all four rounds, and all three scored the fourth round even though it was never completed. "This is not right," DiBella said. "This has to be a no-contest." Cintron's appeal also leans on state rules that say a fighter who falls from the ring should be given a reasonable amount of time to recover before the fight is stopped, DiBella said. However, the ringside physician who recommended referee Lou Moret pronounce the fight over said he did so only because Cintron told two ringside doctors he could not continue because of back pain. "I did say I wanted the fight stopped because the fighter twice said he could not continue," Dr. Paul Wallace told The Times on Monday. "He was asked, 'Can you continue?' and he said 'no.' "Twice. If he had mentioned to me something like, 'Give me a moment ... ,' I understand; these are warriors. Any hint that he still wanted to participate we would've given that to him. We would have got him up and given him a second evaluation." DiBella said Cintron "got the wind knocked out of him" as he tumbled from the ring to a table to the floor, and was instructed by medical personnel to stay down to ensure he was OK. Cintron was ultimately taken from the arena on a stretcher with his head braced. Wallace said it was his "clinical opinion" that Cintron could have stood and walked from the arena floor, but instead Wallace said he and fellow ringside doctor Eddie Ayoub opted to exercise "the highest level of protection for him." Wallace said he saw no contusion or bleeding anywhere on Cintron's body, only "some mouth redness consistent with being punched. There was no sign to say he was severely hurt." "He wanted to continue fighting," DiBella said. "He just needed some time." Wallace said Cintron "did change his mind" only after the fight was declared over, saying, "I want to fight, don't take the fight from me." Wallace contacted The Times in order to refute comments made by DiBella immediately after the bout that Cintron had hit his head on a television monitor atop a ringside table, and again on the ground. DiBella told reporters a ringside doctor had assessed Cintron was "groggy." Not true, says Wallace. "[Cintron] never said a thing about his head, he was never unconscious," Wallace said. "He was asked about pain in his head and neck and said no. He pointed to his back. State commission representatives were not immediately available for comment Monday, but Williams' promoter, Dan Goossen, said his fighter should keep the victory. "What everyone has lost track of is that the correct decision should be a technical knockout," Goossen said. "This was not an intentional foul. It was accidental, and just like if you suffer a sprained ankle or hurt your hand and can't fight anymore in the first round, the unified rules say the other guy wins by TKO. "I was sitting right there. I'm not a doctor and I can't get in [Cintron's] mind, but all I can think is what I'd do if I was a fighter: I'd be fighting for my rights, moving. If you lay there like you can't move, it can give the wrong impression." A spokesman for the athletic commission said Executive Officer George Dodd will begin a review of the fight result, along with a review of the rule that allowed the bout to be sent to the judges' scorecards before four rounds were complete. Goossen said he's not interested in staging a Williams-Cintron rematch, and instead wants to explore fights in the welterweight division, assessing that Williams is the most attractive alternate option for Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao if they can't make a super-fight. Otherwise, Williams would like a shot at welterweight champions Shane Mosley or Andre Berto

" Good idea, get as far away as possible from Cintron.
