What do you prefer? And what is your personal favorite brand of boxing shoes? I think I prefer mids. . . Ankle support enables me to make sharper pivots, and it doesn't feel awkward, and annoying like the highs. . . So far, my favorite is Adidas Box Hogs. . . I think they're a bit more comfy, and are more stable than the Nike Machomai's, my previous boot. I've also got a pair of the everlast lo's. . . They were on sale for so cheap, I had to swoop up a pair. . . They are comfy, and light, but I don't like not having any ankle support. . . Discuss your favorite brands, and style. . . Anybody ever tried Lonsdales? What about Reebok? Rival? Grant? Any other brands?
I know they're technically wrestling boots, but I got those Adidas Vapourspeed II because I saw a couple of local pros wearing them in televised fights, but to be honest,my common old Tyguns were much more comfy, although I do prefer the low top on the Vapourspeeds.Quite like the look of the Adistar but I'd go for the Probout if I was doing any serious training again.(highly unlikely!)
those vaporspeed are nice . very stylish. i used to have a basic pair of black asics . but recently replaced them with a pair of adidas tyrint ( cant believe the low price they sell for now. i think i may get another pair just to take advantage ) i may get a pair of those vaporspeed as well.
Nice. . . Vapourspeeds do look ill! Tyrints look good as well, good to hear you like them - might have to get a pair. . . Heard nothing but good things about the ProBouts as well. . . I'm starting to become obsessed with boxing shoes. . . I'ma fhuck around end up with like 10 pair.
yeah go for it! i feel wearing the same shoe is boring after too long. i am going to order another pair today or tomorrow.
Be careful with those Vapourspeeds guys.I bought mine online and I've never needed a size eight and a half in my life, for any shoes, even running(which need to be spacious) yet I find these boots(8) to be tight after a few wears. My old ones had plenty room,so never thought would be an issue, but too late now. Low cut is great though.
the luxury of the modern age and their fancy boxing boots. Back in earlier days, one did not need fancy shoes to dance in the ring. I remember one boxer from the mid-Sixties that won the Oregon, Tacoma and Seattle Golden Gloves and was not in fancy shoes, At best they were those old black and white runners that on sale day at the low end department store on the east side of Vancouver near the infamous Main and Hastings streets one could buy a fresh new pair at a low low price on $1.49 day.
