Jones didn't have much of a choice if he wanted a LHW title at the time. The other 3 titles were being fought for a couple of months later.

Regardless, he still fought him, and the poster was listing fighters regardless of age or prime weight class. He listed Duran as a HoF fighter for Hagler, who's prime was 25lbs south and started how many weight classes below 160? So Jones gets credit for this as well IMO.

What a biased post this is, you rubbish all of jones best wins then just put in haglers names and don't discuss them at all. Leonard beat him, duran was over the hill fighting 25 pounds north of his best division, vito hamsho and mugabi are good wins no arguments there, but hardly all time great material and not much better if at all than a virgil hill or montell griffiths. Hearns i have no qualms with though, hagler best win by a long way.

I personaly have jones ahead though can see arguments for hagler
