Oscar is underrated around here but Jones is on a different level in an ability sense.

    Definitely Jones.

Oscar De La Hoya: Based on accomplishments & better overall comp (Win/Lose)
(Where he showcased his skills Vs. fighter's of = or better skills)

not arguing with your choice but its hard for roy to fight someone of equal or better skill

thats like comparing lebron to fight someone of equal or better skill... thats like 5 or 6 guys who ever existed on the planet earth

I see it at like this. Jones is almost unbeatable at 160 and 168. I'd favor him over anyone at those weights (yes that includes the likes of Hagler, Monson etc). At 175 I'd say he's at worse 50/50 with anyone.

Oscar on the other hand, at all his weights there is guys that I can see beating him and some that I would heavily favor over him at 147 and above.

True Jones was impressive no doubt...

But the Benn's, Eubanks, McClellan's, Jackson's ect.. were also there,
to go with the Toney's & Hopkins which he did face. (That would have cemented his SMW/MW status)

Although I think Oscar is a little underrated (more than a little on this forum), in my opinion Roy ranks quite a bit higher on an all-time list.

My inclination is that Oscar should be ranked somewhere between 70 and 80, whereas I would happily rate RJJ in the top 30 ever.

Jones on both, in terms of post-war fighters Jones is borderline top 20 on my list, usually around the 25-30 mark depending on what mood I'm in.

Oscar between 60-75 depending on what mood I'm in again. No doubt it's pretty hard to make a comprehensive top 100 P4P list because you find things out every day, or remember something new every day, or realise you've put someone higher than they should've been.

But I know the kinda' tiers I have, and that is where I'd have Roy and Oscar

    :good

The votes aren't public; those that voted, Oscar please advise. Whereabouts is he opn your list? Where is Jones? Which notables are beneath/above Oscar?

I get a feeling the people who voted Oscar are the kinda' people that have Pac in a top 10 P4P all-time list.

Hard to figure out, because the only reproach we can make about Jones is that he did not fight the best in the middleweight and supermiddleweight divisions, even though he fought Toney and hokins. I'm a huge fan of jones, and I a little bit frustrated about this, cause I know he would have beat them all.
In the other hand, one of the best ever.
De la Hoya fought everybody. And even though he did not always win, he was there to fight. I have great great respect for that.

Roy by far. I see no justification for Oscar being ahead.

    too close to vote.
the big gap in the poll indicates the low level of majority of the voters who are too effected by both men's last appearance.
just remember - jones fought a shot beaten and thus beatable 168 at his preferable weight which is 175.
this is not impressing. not a surprise. jones was expected to win.
