I see your point, I'm just suprised by this run away gap in this poll...

you can make your case oscar beat trinidad, and mosley 2, keep in mind I put * next to mosley during his steroid period....but then we get into a grey area with that....

plus oscar loses were not as devestating compared to jones.....

jones is damanging his legacy the longer he fights, I like to use the rolling stones comparison that spin magazine said about that band, if they would have walked away earlier they would be ranked higher...that's jones to me in boxing....his loses and overall resume just can't let me put him above oscar on simple talent alone.....but once again this is IMO....I can see why jones is put higher by some, but this is no run away as it appears to be by this poll....

You make great points, but RJJ run at the top was a good bit longer, he was the P4P greatest fighter of the 90's, multi division champ, only lost once (Griffin), but do we even count that as a loss?

As far as you saying Jones is ruining his career by fighting on, as well as having devastating losses. Oscar's losses to Pac and Hopkins were pretty bad, being destroyed by a guy a good bit smaller than you and being knocked out by a body shot doesn't look all that great on ones resume either.

I personally go with Jones, but Oscar isn't too far behind.

Oscar has definatly been in with the better competition, but i think the fact that roy was #1 on the p4p list for many years puts him ahead of dlh. Plus roy in his prime was near unbeatable

Good question. Fighting the best and losing( B+ level Quartey and Vargas his biggest wins), or dominating and not fighting (all) the best? Then soon after Jones'es prime he lost to B+ level Tarver and Johnson. Both good p4p guys but got to go with Jones (top 35 all time) over DeLaHoya (between 40 and 50 all time).

Not really debatable. Jones much higher on a different level. Don't really consider ODLH a truly great fighter rather a very good fighter who was popular in some circles.

quartery lost and won most of his quality fights narrowly.
different judgement in his fights would have made you regard him 'A'.
    you underestimate him.
    tarver is no B+ , p4p wise maybe , h2h at 175 he's a clear A.
    tarver is a top 5 175 for the last 6 or 7 years , maybe 8.
he has the best resume at 175 , since i don't know when , maybe ever.

Maybe your right about Quartey, but Tarver has never impressed me too much. He got a down sliding Roy Jones at the perfect time, had two very close fights with Johnson and was dominated by Hopkins. If he was top 5 175 the last 6-8 years, that doesn't say much about the division at that time.

Roy avoided the very best for a long time, that hurt his legacy.
