Even P4P, Frazier in his prime is better than any version of Mayweather above 130 pounds. As for the question, I do rate Mayweather above Frazier though.
Joe Frazier. His wins over Eddie Machen, Bonavena, Quarry, Ellis, Chuvalo and of course Muhammad ALI give him the edge. For Mayweather, I won't deny that he's a brilliant master boxer, but a lot of his best wins are kind of tainted IMO. Like I've seen people consider Marquez a top win for him. Then you look at the weight scandal, Floyd didn't even try to make weight. Then you look at Frazier, the man was one of the smallest heavyweights and he still knocked guys out.
Firstly, Joe Frazier is my second favourite fighter, behind Pac, and Floyd is one of my least favs... Floyd is higher than Frazier. Floyd is the greatest of this generation. He avoids fights, only fights hand picked opponents, whatever...he is still amazing in the ring. Joe Frazier wouldnt beat the Klitschkos. He was pretty good at smothering, but they would easily out jab him to the win. He was VERY one dimensional. Smothering + hooks. Mayweather has everything on lock.
The Klitschko's are every bit as one dimensional. Except their dimension is the utilization of overwhelming physical advantages. Frazier's dimension was the overcoming of physical disadvantages.
Foreman is one of the best ever, losing to him doesn't make you a bum. ****, at least Frazier fought the best guys around.
Mayweather.....not even up for debate... one huge win doesn't do the job vs numerous very good wins and zero losses.....ps: this was done a few months back
I'll tell you what, laddies. If you rank people so highly on single best name on the win column, then let's place Joe Frazier above Ali. After all, Ali didn't beat any Ali's, did he? Oh, but wait, he beat Frazier, who we're now ranking above Ali...so, I guess we have to rank Ali over Frazier but then that means that we have to rank Frazier over Ali for beating the guy who beat Frazier.
