Holmes went to be a pretty good fighter in ray Mercer who was unbeaten at time mercer went To give lewis a tough fight which was a toss up fight that could have gone either way. Lennox a fighters who Wlad couldn't tie his shoes larry also when on to fight Oliver McCall almost beat plus Larry even off the lay off vs tyson could still be seen as the champ he was robbed in the second spinks fight 42 writers gave him the fight holmes was robbed. Wlad has fought no fighters with Holmes resume or even of his caliber

Wald. It's not about who'd win in their primes but who has done more and has been more consistent at the highest levels of the sport. There is no debate......Wald dominates Tyson statistically in terms of what both have accomplished as pro fighters.

As far as longetivity is concerned that wlad is better than Lewis

Lennox Lewis has even said the the klitschko era has devalued boxing compared to the era of holyfield, him and Tyson so poor has the quality of opposition the klitschkos have faced. I don't hear any of the 70-90's fighters speak in awe of them

These two jokers were no where near Tysons training camp from 85-88 so they how could they possibly know who hit harder than whom?

That was a sarcastic comment by me. I was just disputing the logic of basing longetivity of title defences, you have to take era of boxing and competition to. I still feel LL was the better fighter and made better use of his skills compared to the klits

Mercer knocked out prime undefeated Tommy Morrison. The Duke then went on to beat Foreman who had been blitzing guys and had only lost to the great Holyfied.
Morrison also knocked out Ruddock which was one of the greatest KOs off all time.

Holmes gave prime , Mercer a schooling and took his zero. Lewis would have a very hard time with Mercer years later and some felt he lost.
If Mercer could push Lewis like that , it only stands to reason that prime Mike would have knocked him out.

Nobody ever did to Holmes what Tyson did to him. Holmes is proven beyond the point of that loss.
    Homes is an ATG win.

What ATG win or hall of fame win does Wlad have?

Larry Holmes backed off, clinched and was too scared to throw much save from that right hand uppercut. Only good thing I observered was him beeing light on his feet for such an old man, but he didn't seem interested in winning after feeling Mike Tysons power. Even David Haye made a few honest attempts to bumrush Wladimir Klitschko and knock him out. Though of course Hayes defence is legions above Holmes, so he could pick his chances.

Several Klitschko victims have boxed a lot better than Holmes did after feeling Wlads Power.

he was throwing when he went down. He actually didn't not perform bad at all up to that point.

Was he scared, or simply giving tysons power its due respect? You'd have to be stupid not to give his power some paramount cause for concern.

ad to be fair, wlads punches and tysons are very different things.

I think Wlad ranks higher for longevity and consistency, but head to head Tyson would brutalize him in his prime.

Holmes went out on his shield but what I observed up to that point wasn't impressive boxing. Tysons resume may be better than Wlads due to other fights, but not this one. Spinks did a lot better than Holmes against Tyson. Better upper body movement, better defence, tried to land short and heavy shots between Tysons assult ...

I still have seen opponents who boxed better against Wlad.

Not sure what you mean. Wlad probably hits harder punsch for punsch, but Tyson lands more. He should have been more accurate, which means a lot, since he was faster and shorter but it's hard to tell. Wlads punches can be surprisingly sharp.

Tysons are far more efficient at transmitting force.

wlad can land hard a can be seen from this weekend, and potentially his body weight means he can land harder than Tyson but he lacks the ability to do so often in a match

Well sure ... their styles are a lot different. Tyson is an infighter who gets up close and relies on his power to win any exchange. Wlad stays on the outside where he uses feints and jabs to set his opponent up for thunderbolt rights. Tysons style probably apply more pressure, but the difference shouldn't be that big, and Holmes still didn't do any composed work that fight.

If you want to prove Tyson beeing the higher ATG you need something else to point at than an aging fighter who didn't want to be in there, not tried to win rounds or believed he could score a knock out. Alexander Povetkin took some heavy shots when he faced Wlad and kept boxing fairly well.
