i agree with you imo, i dont think calzaghe is even a good fighter, he fought just straight up regular guys in his reign. Then he comes to us and fights guys pass their primes and hes considered ATG. Im sorry but calzaghe will never be as good as floyd and she shouldnt be considered atg let alone best of this era

Nobody on here is a bigger Calzaghe fan.

And most know I believe Mayweather to be an immature, arrogant, pain in the arse who's missing something in the 'balls' department.

But there isn't a doubt that Floyd is superior in any serious ATG ranking.

At the time of their fights, Peter Manfredo and Angel Manfredy were at two very different points in rankings. Manfredo was barely within distance to have a title shot thrown his way while Manfredy was considered top 3 overall at Super Featherweight.

And in terms of thin resumes Mayweather has a resume that has some weight to it, Calzaghe's resume of fighters are guys that most boxing fans couldn't identify with boxrec and the fighters mother.

    Your argument is eschewed.

You are talking of the Lacy post Cazaghe, which we all know is crap.

Hindsight is so good because it makes everybody genius.

However, Lacy is a legitimate contender, that all of a sudden began to tailspin after Calzaghe beat him. Casa was able to recover after Mayweather whereas Lacy did not.

The comparison is at that point in their careers (corrales and lacy), who was the better win or to put a spin to it, who performed better?

Now, if you say Corrales (which I presumed from your sarcastic comment), then Mayweather is higher ATG. Now is not that objective, rather than stating that Mayweather defeated so and so, and so, and so, and Calzaghe defeated so and so. Although subjective, ranking in the ATG is based on resume, and comparison of resumes. There has to be a basis of that comparison.

You say that Lacy is less significant that Corrales, that is a point for Mayweather.

You say ODLH win is more significant than Hopkins or Roy Jones win, that is a point for Mayweather.

You say that Manfredo win is more significant win than Angel Manfredy, that is again a point for Mayweather.

    Voila! we have a winner.

    Floyd Mayweather

Easily beats Joe in the Legend department.... Joe didn't fight enough good fighters, fighters that he would probably have beat if he fought them !!!

Calzaghe had all the makings to be a true ATG fighter

Isn't it the same description as Maweather?

Based on skills, they defeat everybody, but actually fought only a few fighters.

This is easy. I'm not a fan of either, but Floyd takes this by a landslide.

floyd fought WAY more challenging and dangerous fighters before 140. i prefer to seperate mayweather's career in two and the first half was damn impressive

You could say that, but Mayweather is more of a superstar and has a bigger following and is more recognized in the sport !!

He might have fought few fighters but has fought in big fights and in the boxing capital of the world - USA ....... Against more well known fighters, like Castillo, Coralles, Judah, Hatton, Marquez, Baldomir, De La Hoya etc ..... while Joe was in wales fighting eastern European Joseph Fritzel's

Floyd at least gave Castillo a rematch to prove his worth at 135, Joe never bothered to give one to Hopkins. Kessler, a past his prime Eubanks, and Lacy I'm sorry to say are all overrated wins over overrated fighters. Floyd beat the top lightweight in the world in Castillo whom in his prime was close to unstoppable, and 135 and below he is an atg. Even tho his work at WW is questionable, they are still decent wins, not worthy of an atg at that weight, but good wins. I don't like him, but his atg ranking is much more solid than Joe's. Joe never stuck around for Dawson which would of answered many questions of his greatness and there would of been less doubts about him.

u trippin homie..over all floyd fought a lot of top tier opponents..SAY WHAT YOU WANT AND IM SURE U CAN MAKE A VALID ARGUMENT FOR HIM NOT FIGHTING THE TOP AT 147 FROM 2006-2009..BUT AT THE SAME TIME FLOYD HAS BEATEN MANY MORE FIGHTERS THAN JOE AND THEY WERE MUCH MORE PRIME...:deal

I cannot believe 39 votes for J.C. . . . WOW . . . either plain ignorance or hatred can explain these votes. I would not be surprised if LukeO, Quarteyjab, and Bostonredsoxfan voted for PBF if they are serious boxing fans or are you guys just haters? who Voted for Joe and why? is the question that must be answered . . . one of you guys m,ust be brave enough to answer that question.
