Overall ability is the reason why Chavez should be rated higher.......

Jones had natural God given abilities in his quickness and speed....Jones was the better athlete, but as far as overall boxing intracacies and abilities go, its all Chavez imo and it is'nt even close.

Roy was far more dominant in his prime if you ask me.

Chavez had hard fights in his prime with Lockridge, Taylor, La Porte and arguably a post prime Ramirez.

Im with you in the spirit of that argument divac..because I to think those things are very important when looking at a fighter. To many people, especially Americans, have a pre-concieved notion that all great fighters should have athleticism of an Ali or Jones Jr..and that to them is the essence of boxing talent.
Which it isnt, its part of it but its not everything. Those other things Chavez certainly had plenty of.

But at the end of the day..Roy in his prime hit guys with hard, clean shots and wasnt hit in return...Even if he was never pushed to show heart or a chin in his prime, the fact he wasnt is testement to his ability considering he did fight some pretty good fighters himself.
