You are not often going to find top world class boxers with low ring IQ. By same token that most top world class fighters never lose in their prime. Almost by definition it is likely to never be the case.
When you say "exactly" it means every word in the sentence... Lets wipe the slate clean. Is angling, use of footwork, a multitude of combinations not indicative of a good ring iq?
Really in the context that he is a 2 time Olympics Gold medal winner with about 400 amateur bouts which he hardly ever lost and fought in the amateur/pro hybrid boxing against other elites!
You bring up context outside of the fight yet fail to incorporate the contexts within the fight. Or maybe you just dunno...
If you'd not be so belligerent from the beginning and minded your tone you would've found that I rate him quite high just not near the vicinity of Ward, Mayweather , Hopkins or Canelo .
It was the manner of these losses that is problematic for me. When you posed problems for a SRL or Floyd Mayweather their ring IQ was so high that invariably they made the correct adjustments.
I apologize for my rudeness. It was out of line. I also believe canelo's ring IQ is generational, but it just isnt as apparent as some other greats.
I am merely pointing out that a man of his qualifications, talents and experience does not have a ring IQ as some of the more superior fighters. I am not slagging him off never have just saying there is a relative weakness compared to others here. A fighter with terrible ring IQ like a D, was Zab Judah who had all the talents and physical ability.
