    Heans Vs Hagler?

Does anyone rate Tommies performance as that good? Did he come out better for this loss? It was a helluv a fight.

Ruddock's career was made around the two Tyson defeats.

Taylor's defeat to Chavez improved his standing; ditto Witherspoon's verses Holmes.

What about George Foreman vs Evander Holyfield 1991. Before the fight Foreman's comeback was treated as a joke after Foreman took Evander the distance for the first time as heavyweight people realised that Foreman at 42 was still competitive at the highest level

Saoul Mamby's losses to Duran and Cervantes vastly improved his reputation. His previous draw with Harold Weston Jr. had brought him out of complete obscurity, but the losses to Duran and Cervantes brought him to a whole other level. Then his controversial loss to Marerro (in their second fight) got him a title shot at Saensak Muangsurin. And the even more controversial loss to Muangsurin didn't hurt his reputation at all either.

Mike Weaver's loss to Larry Holmes brought him from journeyman to legitimate contender status. A lot of people didn't even think he should have been in the ring with Holmes but he proved that he was a serious contender.

Not me. I thought that he fought a terrible fight against Hagler. Gave away all of his physical advantages.

Ron Lyle after the Foreman fight is the best example I can think of.

Disagree with Frazier after Foreman. How can you say that? Joe's reputation was severely damaged in that fight.

For me it's Ezzard Charles losing by decision to Marciano...he covered himself in glory in that one in that he showed courage, grit and a chin in that never say die performance. His mistake was fight Rocky in that rematch way too soon IMO.

Luis Firpo was down 9 times in 4 minutes against Dempsey and came out the ring a bona fide legend whose name lives on to this day.

Klitschko's legacy. He was the one who lost.

Another perhaps would be Leonard in the first Duran fight.

No, I think Leonard definitely lost more than he gained in that fight.

How about Azumah Nelson vs. Salvador Sanchez?

    Or Boza Edwards vs. Arguello?

I would go with Holy in the FIRST Bowe fight, he earned a lot of respect, recognition, for giving a guy who outweighed him by 30 lbs a helluva fight, and came back the next year and beat him..

If Bowe had Holyfields heart he would have had a way better career..
