Whatever, no problem with her winning, that's just a weird score. If that's simply a mistake and was meant to be 58-56, it's actually better than the judge with the wide 59-55. This was a draw or as tight as possible for either woman.

 

Mervin Joshua Evenor vs. Ingkarat Noita, 4 rounds @ lightweight

 

Evenor hails from Seychelles. If you're unaware of this country, don't be alarmed - you're not a geography dunce. It's literally a blip on the world - an island country that is Africa's smallest, and is 900 miles (an entire Kazakhstan!) away from the mainland. The nation's total population is less than Flint, Michigan's.

Anyway, he is 2-0, being fed a local 0-2 guy.

Evenor blasting away, warned for leading with the head. Noita throwing very artless wild combinations in retreat. Evenor lands a low blow. Time in. Evenor showing off some defensive skill, ducking and weaving under Noita's nonsense. Alright, playtime over, HUGE left hook sends Noita flying across the ring and onto the seat of his pants. He's up late in the ref's count but looks ready to quit and cry. Another big left hook dumps him in the corner, dazed, and it's over.

Tommy Nguyen vs. Thanathat Kanlayanamit, 4 rounds @ super bantamweight

 

Kanlayanamit is another fifteen year old local kid, like Photjanasuk.

Nguyen, a Vietnamese-Canadian amateur boxer, making his pro debut.

 

The commentator occasionally breaks into maniacal laughter, it's very distracting.

 

10-9 Nguyen, dominant. Just slicing in, low center of gravity, hands up, head movement, throwing straight punches through Kanlayanamit's wide backfoot shots.

 

The only thing currently saving Kanlayanamit from getting KTFO, IMO, is his height and reach. Nguyen is clearly 10x more skilled, but very compact with stubby arms. As long as Kanlayanamit keeps fleeing and tying up, he might survive to a lopsided loss.

 

Kanlayanamit sells a low blow, acting dramatically for the ref. It was borderline, and grazing. Weenie.

Moments later a legit body shot from Nguyen puts him down and the ref starts counting despite Kanlayanamit arguing that it was also low.

Nguyen pours on the pressure, landing shots on a discombobulated Kanlayanamit, and the ref waves it off.

TKO2!

 

Good debut by Tommy Nguyen, but...he's very short limbed. You have to be amazing, not merely good, to go very far in this sport if you're a T-rex midget.

 

Man, they waste absolutely NO time moving things along here!
