Dramatic close, with Rose out-punching Jones for the first half, and then going full metal re-ta'd and calling out Jones to trade at the end. Jones happily obliges and batters Rose to close.

Jones round, but Rose up on my card. Not by as much as you'd think, though. 1,4, 10 and 12 went to Jones and I called the seventh even.

 

Jones nods after lifting his hand in hope more than belief and knows he lost, but he has every right to call for a rematch - in America. (Not that it will happen) but it would be a great undercard fight on PBC. Even if neither fighter will ever set the world alight, I'd like to see a third fight.

 

Rose gets the decision in a fight that's on my short-list for FOTY consideration.

Brian Rose has a great heart and I have to say his conditioning was excellent, his chin isn't great but I think he must have trained bloody hard for this fight and was willing to do whatever it takes to win, he was hurt on at least four occasions and each time he took a step back and fired back and there was no way he was going to lose. I didn't like him before tonight - but you have to respect fighting through a broken nose to avenge a defeat.
