Most of those writers don't give any technical brake up of the fight. Their logic is: - one is young and strong the other one is old. I was not watching boxing by that time so I don't know who I was going to pick but you need to give some real argument when you pick a fighter. Steve Kim is good at picking fights. Another one that gets them right most of the time is Michel Rosental
Tito was the man. Till this day Trinidad is Hopkins best win. So shut the ****ing haters up, because Hopkins beat a legend that night.
Let's be honest though- the vast majority thought Tito was gonna win (including myself) and he was the heavy betting favorite. Lets not castrate people too much for making an incorrect prediction.
Yup I remember folks using the Joppy fights as a measuring stick. Bhops "struggled" to ko Joppy and bet on himself to ko Joppy while Tito ko'd Joppy. Even if Hopkins lost that money it could of been a tactic to fool Tito and Bhops knew he'd get his money back after fighting Tito.
If you call offering Hopkins a $6m career high payday to fight RJJ back in 2002 "ducking" you must be deluded.
most of these guys you qouted are clowns. no credible source i knew of gave tito a substantial edge prior to the fight. and regarding caneol/lopez, i know of no credible source giving saul a substantial edge over any of the top jms...if he ever fights one. canelo nuthuggers are the most delusional people i have read and coincentally are only found here on the esb forums. canelo alvarez is so average to the educated boxing enthusiast its baffling to see the fanfare that he receives.
wtf? he beat joppy after he kod tito. and the bet was for 100k and joppy earned every bit of it after enduring a tremendous beating in which he looked like the elephant man therafter surviving the full 12 rounds. bernard hopkins is the greatest fighter of the 90's and 2000's.
stfu noob. You've only been following boxing for 18 months. Hopkins fought Joppy after he beat Trinidad. Predictions for Hopkins-Trinidad were split fairly even. The odds were ******ed - Hopkins was no 3-1 outsider.
