Hilarious that people always say Floyd hasn't fought anyone with speed....

You never asked me that. I'm not saying whether he could or couldn't. He didn't. He doesn't have a lot of experience, and especially recent experience, fighting speedy fighters. The cause to why doesn't matter because it won't make him anymore prepared.

So, it wouldn't have mattered that much, because it won't prepare him any more for Pacquiao?

Ehh, I wouldn't say that. I'm sure if Floyd fought some speedy fighters in recent years that it would've helped the adjustment period he'd have to go through with Pacquiao. Maybe not much, but better than fighting no fast fighters at all.

Like, I think it helped Pacquiao in preparation to fight two boxers, Algieri and Bradley, before facing Mayweather. And on the contrary, Mayweather fought one dimensional plodders. Sure, it may not make that much of a difference in preparation, but it's still better than nothing.

Neither Algieri nor Bradley are anywhere near the boxer Floyd is. Especially not Algieri.

On the other side, Floyd has fought plenty of southpaws (Reggie Sanders, Mitchell, Judah, Guerrero, Ortiz, and Corley).

You're not getting my point. Every time either name is mentioned you all automatically resort to "they're not anywhere close" well no freaking duh.

That's not my point though. They don't have Mayweather's skills, but Bradley being a former top 3 P4P, who's intelligent and a good boxer and Algieri who's fleet-footed, likes to run, and use a jab...take it as glorified sparring partners before the fight. Not saying they're like him but they may have some attributes that can provide some slight familiarity when fighting Mayweather. Heck, I know for a fact it's not crazy to say because Maidana USED Algieri as a sparring partner for Mayweather!

Maidana also used Dulorme as a sparring partner for Floyd.

If Im reading this right Floyd had fought nothing but plodders and because of this, when he fight pac it will be a big shock ! Am I correct ?

The problem with fans that say this is the following, when you are as fast on your feet as Floyd, and Pac, most everyone you fight is going to be a plodder.

So based on this logic, Pac has fought nothing but plodders because of his speed, And Floyd will be the Fastest fighter he will have faced his entire career.

The reality is, 99% of fighters are slow compared to Floyd and Pac.

Which could help probably, but once again, not recent. Pacquiao has fought 2 boxers in the past 12 months. For Mayweather, it's been 4 years.

Also, just because they're southpaw doesn't mean they're good preparation anymore than Pacquiao fighting almost all orthodox fighters in his career. Ortiz and Judah had some particular qualities (same with Bradley/Algieri for Mayweather) that may help. I just wish their fights were more recent. Like I couldn't even use Judah because Floyd was a completely different fighter then than he is now.

Actually I think Maidana hits a bit harder than Pac.

I guess I read the post wrong. My bad. Pac might bite harder.:scaredas:

No, not ever. Just for the past few years. The most recent person Floyd fought with pretty good footwork, footspeed was probably........Hatton? If not him, tell me. For Pacquiao, I could say Algieri or Bradley.

Oscar De La Hoya, Mosley, Zab Judah, Mitchell etc were slow! Really? What excuses will the haters have once he does a number on Pacquiao.

"yes", you could say that Algieri and Brandly have pretty foot speed.
But my rebuttal to that statement would be, nether of those fighter footwork is as educated as Floyd's.

Bradley does have good boxing skill, but I feel after winning a gift decision against Pac's, he neglect to use those skills and in gauges brawls that he shouldn't as a way to prove to the boxing fans he can be crowd pleasing. So most of the time he's not using his skill at all.

Algieri foot work is some what fast, but thats it, he does not know how to use it.
