I have read in multiple sources that a major determining factor in Marciano retiring after the Moore fight was the hype at the time about Floyd Patterson and that with his speed and power he would embarrass the aging Marciano. Of course now it is not viewed that way but is some of this rumor fact based ? Was Patterson rated as a serious threat at that window in 56 ?
