October first @ EDION Arena. WBA super world light flyweight title at stake, Kyōguchi's 2nd defense. Hisada is the WBA mandatory, ranked #1, and is coming off a nearly two-year reign as Japanese flyweight king with 5 defenses. Of the challenger's eleven blemishes - totaling nine losses and two draws - five were split decisions, one a majority decision, and the last came in 2015.

IB Funfact: Kyōguchi is the only champion to date ever to successfully defend this belt, created in 2010 with inaugural holder Giovani Segura never bothering to lift a finger to retain it and leaving it vacant for seven years...upon which it briefly adorned the waist of Ryōichi Taguchi before getting hot potatoed in short order to Hekkie Budler and then its current wearer.

    Hisada vs. Kenichi Horikawa III:
(avenging two earlier losses, to begin his national title reign)

Also this will be the first weekday morning in a while that I've been able to devote myself to an entire Japanese broadcast (assuming that's possible - @Boxing Prospect, any idea?) since tomorrow is my last day @ the café before it shutters permanently due to increased rent. :ohno #hoorayforlatecapitalism

There's a rumour that it will be available, but not on TV. Yet to see official confirmation about the outlet but heard rumbles for a week or two that it might be on youtube.

I'm liking these new Asianboxing features on 10 facts, they did a Hisada one last week:

2-Despite the fact Hisada is, at the time of writing 34-9-2 (20) overall he has gone 11-2 (7) when he's fought at Light Flyweight. The losses in those two bouts have come to Ryoichi Taguchi and Kenichi Horikawa, with the loss to Horikawa being avenged!

So the only avenged loss at 108 came to Kyoguchi's stablemate!

8-Despite facing 4 unbeaten men in his first 5 bouts, including a debutant, Hisada hasn't faced an unbeaten opponent in over 14 years and more than 40 bouts! That ends on October 1st when he faces the 13-0 Kyoguchi.

    Whaaaa? That's just odd
