The Japanese boxer Hiroto Kyoguchi former IBF Minimumweight / Mini Flyweight (105 lbs) world champion and the former WBA and The Ring Magazine champion of Light Flyweight (108 lbs) and former WBO Flyweight challenger announces his retirement at 31 years old. A boxer with explosive power at 108 lbs, a boxer who was a amazing pressure fighter and his body shots was terrible. Unfortunately he was not the same after his fight with his rival Kenshiro Teraji. https://www.nikkansports.com/m/battle/news/amp/202507020000527.html https://www.sanspo.com/article/20250702-5YK6S2Z6YZJT5EESX6D5TOJ2YQ/?outputType=amp https://boxmob.jp/sp/news/index_amp.html?nid=34799&n=1 This content is protected
Same ! But I think he was realist he lose against Olascuaga who is probably the most weak Flyweight champion actually the others are Kenshiro & Yabuki & we can still count Seigo Yuri Akui (he lost his belt but will normally be back). And also he is not motivated anymore since he lose by TKO against Kenshiro. Almost all peoples thinking before the fight that he will win he was by far the favorite. I think it's like Daigo Higa if he lose against Vargas we will never see him again too.
Shame, I thought Kyoguchi beat Olascuaga and got shafted by the decision tbh. He get robbed blind against Paras as well. Fun fighter to watch, pretty compact and skilled pressure fighter. I still think he could win a title at 112, he looked really good against Olascuaga imo. He's had a career to be proud of though and can leave the sport with his faculties intact at least.
Would have liked to have seen a rematch with Teraji before he retired but at least he can leave the sport with his health still intact. Fine fighter and always fun to watch. Enjoy retirement champ.
I will prefer that Kyoguchi will fought Yabuki for the IBF belt it's a shame this fight will never happen too.
