    In MMA you keep finishing until you know for sure the refs called it. Jackson def landed some unnecessary shots after the knockout punch, but the ref was immediately on him. Jackson was also 0-2 against Wanderlei Silva going into this fight, so you can imagine his motives. Classic should check out some MMA, theres some great fights and great kos.

    And yeah Silva was ok afterwards. Kinda just business as usual in MMA.

    Yeah, it's brutal stuff. I understand a DQ would have been severe, he was just following up, maybe one or two extra shots.
    I prefer Queensbury rules myself, a good old-fashioned stand-up fist fight.
    Or the occasional no-holds-barred anything-goes streetfight. :lol:
    MMA is in-between.

    I respect the fighters though, and have seen some good fights. :good

    And the gloves they wear are better than these silly pillow 12oz things some of the boxing has now.

    Is there anything in the way of an earliest known record of when things like slipping, picking off, clinching during a punch as a defensive maneuver, and parrying were first introduced?
