Hisashi Amagasa is a 29 year old 5'10.5 Super Bantamweight with a 28-5-2 18 KO's 1 KO loss record. Born in Ota, Gunma, Japan but fighting out of Tokyo. While he was beaten to a bruised up bloody pulp he still kept coming, no matter how much damage he took like most Iron Chinned Japanese Warriors he showed no signs of give even after being dropped, thankfully after coming close to suffering a broken cheek and jaw his corner did for him, that which he wouldn't do for himself and stopped the fight. No one gave him half a chance(I did, kind of) he was just another victim lined up for the mighty Rigo to add to his resume, well evidently Hisashi didn't get the memo and gave Rigo one of the hardest fight of his career since the Cordoba match. Not ony did he drop the glass jawed Rigo he hurt him badly before the second KD and Guillermo should thank his lucky stars the bell rang and saved his ass from a possible KO loss, but credit to Rigo he came back fought more aggressive than ever and got the stoppage. But for the mere fact that Amagasa showed the world what I've always believed if you can get to Rigo you can hurt Thank You Hisashi, for an almost good New Year's Eve present. Asianboxing reported that there was NO breaks of any bones following the Rigondeaux bout. Amazing really considering the mess of his face
Amagasa is a beast, who among us could take this kind of punishment. https://beatsboxingmayhem.files.wordpress.com/2014/12/rigondeaux_amagasa.png
Amagasa's recovered COMPLETELY from the damage and is now eyeing up a world title fight at his natural weight...he seemed to hint that he wanted Evgeny Gradovich!
I wonder if some you gents even watched the Rigo fight, i have read ppl here referring to that fight as a war, that Rigo was almost knocked out, that it was a tough fight for Rigo etc. The reality is that it was a one sided beatdown administered by one of the best fighters in the world, yes he was dropped but it was more a case of being off balance than anything else he was quickly on his feet and showing no signs of being hurt and the second knockdown was a BS call Rigo no real punches landed Rigo just got pushed no way that should have been a knockdown. Where some saw a war and a tough fight for Rigo i saw a one sided beatdown and one of Rigo's best performances.
