No of course im not. Iv only been following boxing since yesterday.

    Anyway.

As for Hatton being linear ranked a big name i couldnt care less. In the days of old the CHAMPION fought the number 1 challenger. He didnt make excuses and complain that "that man talked bad about me so i wont fight him" or "his not a big enough name so i dont need to fight him". Now seeing as your so on point with your boxing history im sure your aware of the fact that in days gone by it was 1 champ per divison and that champ defended against the NUMBER 1 recognised challenger.

Take the rose tinted specs off, even in the 'good old days' champions didn't always fight the number 1 contender and you know it!

The only thing that bothers me about Hatton fighting Lascano is the statement that Hatton only wants to fight twice this year. Does that mean that come the fight after he will need another "gimme" build up fight to compensate for the time off?

If Hatton and his fans are going to run thier mouths about him being the top guy at light welter he needs to start putting all the other pretenders in thier place not fighting duffs like Lascano.

If Hatton was to have maybe four fights this year then a build up fight would have held more leverage but has it is now he should only be fighting the guys with belts or the reputation to justify all the bull**** flying around.

How many champions fight four or five times a year? 2 or 3 is pretty much the standard these days.

Point is that he is not a champion.

Champions get away with it because they hold all the cards and each fight counts as a defense and has sufficient meaning because of that.

Hatton is good enough to beat all the belt holders so why not just go out thier and do it instead of fighting a fight that has such little meaning it is pointless.

Hatton for me still has a few good fights left in him and also has some very good opponents to choose from and the opportunity to add more belts to his cv. A fight against Lascano or Isaac gives him nothing and would generate less money than fighting one of the more respected guys around the division.

If Hatton fought some one like Cotto I wouldn't be annoyed that he's avoiding Witter but not fighting Witter to fight Lazcano! What a joke.

I think he should rematch Collazo (like he said he would) so he can claim, with legitimacy, to being a two-weight World Champion.

Having lost to Mayweather at 147 beating Collazo wouldn't make Hatton a legit champion.

It legitimizes his 'victory' over Collazo and proves he had what is takes to beat at least an abc like champ of 147. As it is every Hatton interview involves him mentioning the fact he is a "two weight world champion" - no he's not, and he's not going to beat any of the other champions either, but at least a convincing win over Collazo would allow him to make that claim without sounding so hollow.
