    Right. Jokes about Tommy Burns and deadlifts aside, the purpose of this thread is to actually *ask the question*: how much of an impact does the forum think banned substances can have?

    Presumably they do something, since lots of fighters take them, and the athletic commissions have seen fit to ban them as unfair (as well as dangerous in some cases.)

    From my perspective, the way that fighters seem to be maintaining their athletic abilities and fighting shape longer does seem to be a bit suspicious in the modern era. So they might have been able to change some outcomes where Father Time had more to do with an old champion's defeat than superior skill.
