Historical night for boxing if Hopkins wins.

either guy winning is huge. hopkins winning will be revelled in america, and justly so. kovalev winning will be celebrated through much of eastern europe, and rightly so. i'm just glad the fight is here, can't wait to watch. much like political ads, can't wait for the obnoxious fan bs to end either.

 

Not really, it's a bad thing if he wins. He's 50, we want to see new young champions, the old timers of this era are going on too long lol

 

In the short term a Hopkins win is more significant and historic that's true. But if Kovalev wins it does announce the presence of a new star in boxing much like when Hopkins beat Tito. Though of course Kovalev will need to back up the win, one big win doesn't make a legacy.
