It has been an insane situation, which the WBA called upon themselves. But there was a court ruling, and he never got his shot, so why remove him now?
Out of everything that's ever happened in this sport, seeing Oquendo removed from the WBA rankings is what jas shocked me most.
Hopefully he sues them and it makes them go bust and disappear from history Obvs not likely but we can always hope.
Put this down as a duck by Charr. Really, how can someone consider themselves a champion (best of the best) and not be right there ready to get this out of the way at any opportunity, as an easy stay busy fight. Could have been an on undercard or as some kind of COVID era novelty fight when nothing better was happening. Or a 4 way tournament with Wilder and Andy Ruiz (doesn't seem a all motivated but in the mix anyway) for some special belt for heavyweights who clog up the division. At least this clears the way for a big Charr/Bryan fight.
