I did a little reaserach on the history of Gale Van Hoy judging specific Juan Diaz fights, and I have determined he has a bias to Texas fighters, and especially Juan Diaz......and heres the history I have compiled

Juan Diaz VS Eleazar Contreras, Jr.

Diaz stops Contreras but what is interesting is the scorecards at the time of the stoppage.... 2 Judges had it 95-94 Diaz, while

    Juan Diaz VS Michael Katsidis

    1 Judge had it 115-113 Diaz,1 115-113 katsidis, while

    Juan Diaz VS Paulie Malignaggi

, in what most observers scored a close fact, giving the edge to Paulie in most cases....

^^^I had the same score for Diaz. So that is the first time Van got it right.

Based on Van Hoy's interview at boxing confidential, he really sounded like an idiot while trying to defend the score he gave in the Diaz-Malignaggi fight..

So scoring a fight for Diaz, that he clearly wins is favouring him?

    **** off, mate.

that's not the point, the point is that he is overly biased to diaz, even if he gives it to the correct winner his margins are obsecure compared to the other 2 judges.....read the entire post

    now **** off, mate

You think Diaz/Katisids was even 116-112? Diaz almost pitched a shut out. I don't doubt that this card is off the mark, but you can't doubt his past judging performances, more than you can every other judge.

i didnt think diaz pitched a shutout at all i thought he won the fight....but comparing his score card with the other 2 judges, along with his track record in all of the diaz fight he judges, he has a bit of a bias....and its not diaz but all texas fighters...

he has a pure bias for texas fighters

I haven't seen the fight yet, but it sounds like van Hoy fu*ked up in his job.

He may really have a bias for Texas-based fighters, or one can also say that he favors aggression over precision or defense. But 118-110 is just unforgiveable for a fight that most saw as very close.

you guys know what the worst thing about this is? judging is opinion based so no matter what you cant get proved wrong and penalised. this pisses me off becuz it means that judges cant get fined or sacked over there score cards
