Apart from Oscar De La Hoya, add Ricky Hatton and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in the mix when it comes to possible future foes for Manny Pacquiao.

In an interview with the daily morning Philippine radio program “Sports Chat” last Tuesday, American trainer Freddie Roach said Hatton is being mentioned by Golden Boy Promotions as a potential opponent for Pacquiao.

“They’re talking about Manny Pacquiao as future opponent for somebody like Ricky Hatton down the line,” said Roach.
Pacquiao, who will be celebrating his 29th birthday on the 17th, is set to challenge bitter Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez, the World Boxing Council (WBC) super featherweight champion, on March 15 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Roach said these developments make the Marquez fight very crucial for Pacquiao, especially if Hatton decides to return to his natural weight at 140.

Roach said a Dela Hoya-Pacquiao fight, which has been talked about the past couple of weeks, looks unfeasible for the hall-of-fame trainer.
"I don’t believe Oscar can go down to 147. I’m not that sure if that will work out. But against Ricky Hatton who’s maybe just as popular in his home country, it will be a huge fight for everybody,” added Roach. “That makes the Marquez fight that much more important for Manny.”
In the same interview, Roach laid out his initial training plans for Pacquiao in preparation for the Marquez fight.

take it easy there bud. Pac has power and we know Hitman can get KTFO so lets just not jump to conclusions.

Anyway, if funny how scared Hatton is of Witter. This guy is just waiting there for him but Hatton just keeps dodging him.

don't you realize that hatton look too small against 5'8" pbf????
pac outsized the 5'8" EM in their last fight.

Pac has above average not great power at 130. He had unreal power at 122, great power at 126 and above average at 130. So he would have average power at 140.

Hatton got knocked out walking onto a clean punch where his whole body weight was forward. It was the perfect counter.

Ricky Hatton loved fighters who stand infront of him and fight. Pac would do this, average power smaller weaker and stands infront of you.

Hatton would demolish him.

This fight will no doubt ruin pacman, which isnt a big deal I guess since he seems to be at the end of his career. Might as well make a big amount of money before you retire, only problem is will he be able to enjoy it.

It is not size that would be the problem it would be strenght Hatton would Bully him.

Also height does not = size otherwise Paul Williams dwarfs Mike Tyson in every way.

some people need a reality check around here. hatton lost to the P4P #1, not a no named bum and we are yet to see how pac would fair against lightweights, never mind the man at junior welter.

There would be more head butts than a WWE match. Both of them would be charging forward.

I see this fight being a brawl and both Manny and Hatton taking big punches. It's tough but i think Pacman will get in more punches in the end. could be a great fight but Pac has to first get passed JM

Pac has been KO'd at lower weights. What makes you think he could take Hattons shots?

true.... the only argument i have here is that was a younger inexperienced Pac. He's gotten better with time and is a different fighter now.
