Prime Matthrew Saad Muhammad vs Lopez II
    Division: L Heavy Weight

Round 8. These two guys were pretty skilled during their primes and were definitely of a much higher caliber than Gatti-Ward

Muhammad vs Lopez II provided a great 8th round, but Hagler vs Hearns remains the benchmark IMO.

Didn't seem like they were higher calibre to me . Is it the way they throw punches?

Ahh. They were nowhere near Hagler Hearns, not those two in skills. But Matt Saad Muhammad was a better boxer than Gatti or Ward. Also notice they are at higher weights, it's harder to fight that fast and with that much brutality+volume of punches thrown at higher weights as compare to 140, where combinations and flow is much faster.

Hagler/Hearns was a fight where possibly the two best fighters in boxing in 1985,and at the time they were both destroying any opponents they fought. Both came out swinging with confidence. It was a great example of boxing heart and confidence.

Yes I think it is a better round and one I watch more often than R1 of Hagler/Hearns.

Hagler/Hearns R1 is the best 1st round I have seen, but it also gets overrated because of the occasion.

There's a few rounds better than Hagler-Hearns, I'd say, and yes, that is one of them.
