How low the mighty have fallen ! When fighting I ruled the world. After
retirement, to make bread ,I played second fiddle to a bunch of fleas..
    Lesson : Save your dough...Who am I ?

I hate riddles, could it be Jack Johnson

These are some of the other known fighters that boxed in carnivals, Nat Langham, Tom Sayers, Jem Mace, Jimmy Wilde, Benny Lynch & Randy Turpin.

It was Johnson ... he spent his money as fast as he earned it ... he ended up performing at a Times Square Oddity show during the depression .. still, Jack managed to do it on his own terms. He was well dressed , sipped red wine through a straw and answered questions about his life ..

H, it is Jack Johnson, who I saw as a lad ,perform in Huberts Flea Circus,
in NYC...He punched the bag and chatted, signing autographs, shook
hands,in the basement, while the main event upstairs was fleas trained to pull micro chariots...My dad and I shook Johnson's hand along with others...Imagine the great Lil Arthur on the undercard to a bunch of fleas.
At that time I,didn't understand his place in boxing history, but my father
    sure knew...

I heard he was only allowed to perform with black fleas.

What did your father think of Johnson being on the undercard of a flea show?

How he went from champion of the world to this?
