Here's some fringe name's for consideration:
    Vinnie Pazienza
    Ray Mancini
    Diego Corrales
    Jorge Paez
    Riddick Bowe
    Kostya Tszyu
    Edwin Rosario
    Johnny Tapia
    Roger Mayweather
What do you think of some of these fighters? Should they be voted in?

Vinnie Pazienza- No way, likeable but limited
Ray Mancini- Sorry, too short of a career
    Diego Corrales- Possibility
Jorge Paez- I don't think so
    Riddick Bowe- Highly doubt
    Kostya Tszyu- Absolutely, stellar career
    Edwin Rosario- He's already in
Johnny Tapia- Can't say, haven't followed him
Roger Mayweather- Ko losses hurt his chances

Tapia defo for me, in my opinion he is a strong contender for the best super-flyweight of all time, to justifiably call him the greatest of that division is maybe more difficult, but very possible also.

Given the HOF's standards, strong considerations would be: Jorge Arce, Acelino Freitas, Chris Byrd and Kennedy McKinney.

Fringe possibilities would be Imamu Mayfield, Michael Grant and Panchito Bojado.

    :yep

HOF will let in guys like McGuigan but not Rose..The distinction of being a HOF'r is slowly diminishing every year in my eyes.

Yep, just wait till the likes of Ricky Hatton and Diego Corrales get admitted in five years time and Rose is still missing. Much like the Nobel prize in literature and the Academy Awards in film, it's almost getting to the stage where it's a surer sign of greatness to miss out on induction/being awarded than it is to be inducted/awarded.

WaR.. Lionel Rose would be a very worthy recipient to be recognised.

The great man is not here forever. Fingers crossed he becomes an inductee. To hell with the money making Canastota enterprise...

    Will PM you.

Unfortunately the Hall of Fame has a serious flaw...

By inducting every year it forces the decision makers to add boxers who really shouldn't be anywhere near there. In recent years this was proved by the example of Barry Maguigian who, though I do like him as a person, defiinitly does not deserve to be mentioned alongside the greats of our sport.

Until the HoF re-assesses it's induction policy every boxer mentioned on this list has a very good chance of being inducted.

i think culturally mcguigan should be in. career wise it was a good career but not a steller career but what he did for the irish peace process is incredible. i know it's not what you should get voted in for but still it is very noteworthy.

same with joel casamayor he cemented the pathway for cuban pro's. look at the massive insurgence of cuban ams going pro the past 5 years. mainly due to joels cultural impact. exposed the cuban ams as a shame if you win gold (bike for a gold medal)
