Sparked into my mind while rewatching Berto-Collazo. Ive noticed Berto has been holding quite a bit in his last few fights.

When your genuinely hurt and disoriented, of course. Many fighters use it as part of their gameplan as well...like Floyd. When do you start really deducting points?:bbb:rasta

The amount of holding Berto did in the Urango fight was excessive. He deserved to have points deducted. it was ridiculous.

Ruiz, Berto, Hopkins, Hatton hold too much and should be penalized. Mosley, Mayweather and Wlad are guys who are borderline and use it well to their advantage, though I would like to see some more warnings.

holding then being broken up then holding again then being broken up again then throwing a punch then holding again is only exceptable if you are hurt

I don't know if it's even worth comparing those two to anyone else. Berto and Ruiz aren't even the same neighborhood as far as Hopkins and Hatton when it comes to holding, and Hopkins and Hatton don't hold to hold-on-for-dear-life the way that Berto strictly does.. But I know what you're saying though.

Urango vs Berto was ridiculous. Berto held like 60% of the fight.

It seems there should be more points deducted for holding. It is a fight after all.

Hatton still would have won a world title. Berto, and Ruiz hold too much. Hatton and Hopkins don't.

Andre Ward was holding Miranda when he, in my opinion, did not really have too. I think that fight had excessive holding as well.

i think alot of people are missing the point.

You shouldnt be allow to hold at any time regardless of whether you are hurt or not.

Using the excuse that a fighter was hurt is suggesting that the rules change during a fight. The rules are there for a reason and they do not change.

You dont expect the rules in any other sport to change with the circumstances so why this one?

Hopkins should have had some serious point deducted in the Calzaghe fight...ridiculous holding.
