That doesn’t mean he didn’t initiate clinches. I showed you examples. I posted an instructional video of a coach teaching AMATEURS how to do what Povetkin was doing to initiate clinches.

I also said let’s forget about your PED-chugging hero and talk about Mike Tyson and demonstrated how this works, how the person extending his arm is the one initiating a clinch. (If a fighter keeps his hands tight and elbows in and doesn’t extend his arms under the opponent’s armpit nor thrust his head there, he won’t ever initiate a clinch.)

I’ve asked you multiple times if you have ever been in a gym. If you’ve ever had even elementary boxing instruction. And you just want to make this whole thread about your hero getting beaten up by Wlad and cry over it.

Just start a thread about it and leave this discussion to the original topic. And make sure you include this:

Povetkin after the fight: “Of course he’s the better fighter, he’s the best in the world, that’s clear.”

Oh, and Povetkin twice ducking out of the fight before it finally happened when his Daddy Warbucks overpaid to get it on Russian soil, and he still fought like a punk.

I will admit error in an earlier post just to show I’m fair: I said Povetkin got knocked down three times when he elected not to clinch, but it was four. I apologize for the error.

 

No , you haven't. You pathetically weaseled out of it by posting training videos and verring off topic by talking about Tyson and Atlas.. Ill ask again - produce a visual showing Povetkins cheating? A gif , timestamps , whatever.. Why can't you do it? I have , i produdce plenty of visuals becaue facts are on my side , not yours.

I even showed you Wlad committing the same fouls on other fighters. Even his own trainer called him out on it , yet you have the audacity and dishonesty to argue Wlad was fighting a clean fight against Povetkin??. . You sicken me.

Povetkin fought clean like he always does. The way he throws punches requires him to come in low , dip to the sides and bring his head down. . He fought the same way against Joshua but Joshua had a better strategy to deal with his style. Wlad only knows how to clich , lean , grab and bear hug... He even went up on his toes in order to press extra weight down on Povetkins back piece.

Here we see Povetkin fight the way you claim is illegal. . You don't know anything about boxing. . Go back to your tutorial vids Bozo

I showed you in the original two clips you posted — Povetkin ducking his head under Wlad’s armpit is not Wlad initiating a clinch.

Look at the other clips you showed of Wlad vs. Povetkin and show me how Wlad made Povetkin extend his arms under Wlad’s armpits and hook him around the back and explain how Wlad made him do that.

I posted a training video to show that what Povetkin was doing is textbook ‘how to initiate a clinch.’ They teach that to AMATEURS it’s so basic.

If you think the topic of this thread is “Povetkin got robbed against Wlad,” go back and look at the OP. Or start a thread about it.

To get away from your obsession with the drug cheat Povetkin (you think holding should be penalized but not PEDs lol), I brought Mike Tyson into the discussion. Look at how many times he ‘gives his gloves’ to Bonecrusher and Tucker by extending them under the opponent’s arms to initiate the clinch.

Tell me exactly how you are supposed to avoid a clinch if you and I are boxing and I get close and then put my head under your arm or extend my arms straight out so that they go under your arms. Is it your position that the rules call for you to raise your hands over your head to avoid contacting my arms when I’m the one who created that position?

If you want to make a referendum on ‘Wlad held in other fights,’ be my guest but that has nothing to do with the topic. Start another thread to talk about it.

I’m showing you in the simplest terms possible by basic amateur teaching on how to initiate a clinch and at the highest levels of the games how Tyson did it (Teddy Atlas explains it) and you simply refuse to believe it’s a tactic. And moreso you refuse to believe that your Precious, Povetkin, actually did what we can see him doing on film.

Povetkin ducks under the jab with his hands tucked under his chin. Wlad immediately lunges on top of him with a octopus grab. That is exactly what happened.

I personally don't mind holding as long as its not excessive. Sometimes a fighter must hold to clear his head, and the mere fact he is able of the "hold" suggests the fighter is still capable of defending themselves.
Duran was a master of holding, turning his opponent to an angle he wanted them, then exploiting them. Its how he beat Leonard in Montreal.
Same with Ali in Zaire against Foreman.
Me personally I see it as part of the game, and on a world class level the opponent should know what to expect and prepare for it.
Holding has been a part of boxing since the Queensbury rules were implemented. It has helped a number of great fighters survive tough moments. And has been used as a tool to wear down a opponent, or force them to adjust to the holding.
Part of the game in my opinion. As long as it isn't excessive. Which is pretty easy to differentiate by a experienced referees, judges , and fans.

The first one, explain to me how a left jab results in Povetkin’s head directly under Wlad’s armpit. You say he lunges — Wlad’s feet never move. Povetkin moved forward into that position under his own power.

Povetkin moves forward in every fight he ever fought. . Its called applying pressure.

When he applied the pressure , Wlad lunges his upper body and drapes it all over Povetkins back. . He didn't need to move his feet. He was anticipating the moment in which he leaned all over him. . Povetkins head being there is a direct result of being clinched and leaned on by the much taller man.

Povetkin’s head magically finds a path under Wlad’s arm when Wlad doesn’t move his stance an inch and it happens dozens of times in the fight and you don’t see that Povetkin is the one to initiated the clinch. Is Wlad obligated to move out of his way? LOL.

Wlad doesn’t lean over until Povetkin has placed his head under the arm. It’s not disputable.

I showed you a video of a coach teaching amateurs to do exactly what Povetkin did repeatedly in the fight. It’s as plain as day.

Now go look t the further dozens of times that Povetkin somehow manages to extend one or both arms straight out where they under up under Wlad’s armpits and explain how that’s Klitschko’s fault.

Go look at the Marco Huck fight, btw, and see how many times Povetkin manages to hook his left hand around Huck’s head. It’s not as constant because POV wasn’t as scared of a cruiser (even one who is beating the hell out of him at times). But if we’re going to officiate boxing the way you want it officiated, Povetkin is DQ’d in that fight because I saw him do it four times in a spot-check of about 2 1/2 minutes of that fight.

But while we’re on the subject of how “Povetkin always fights clean” — the most ironic boxing sentence anyone has ever typed unless someone somewhere posted ‘Duran would never quit’ or ‘Tyson would never bite anyone’ — why don’t you address your boy’s PED usage? How is a guy who is filled to the gills with PEDs considered fighting ‘clean’ in your mind?

Let’s drop this. I’ve shown it to you and you either refuse to watch, refuse to believe your own eyes or refuse to acknowledge you’re wrong. If you’d ever trained in a boxing gym you’d know Povetkin’s tactics are basics (which the instructional video proves) of how to initiate clinches.

I timestamped an instance of Povetkin being forced under Wlads arm. . This is what has been asked of you repeatedly but you Simpy refuse to comply. .It tells me you know your dishonesty will be exposed if you produce a clip.

Keep watching it over and over. You might get it eventually.

But you haven’t yet answered how Povetkin isn’t responsible for extending his arms under his opponent’s armpits. How on God’s green earth is Wlad responsible for Povetkin thrusting his arm straight out?

Look at it and tell m e how it happens that Pov manages to do that multiple times per round? How is hooking your left arm under the opponent’s armpit and grabbing his back not Povetkin clinching? And when he does that, Wlad leans over.

This thread is supposed to be about clinching and holding, which Povetkin does repeatedly. Not leaning over. But if you insist, find me a rulebook that says ‘leaning over is an infraction when your opponent hooks his arms around you’ ... or even just ‘leaning over is an infraction.’ It’s not.

NOW do you want to address how the guy coked to the gills on PEDs “always fights clean”? Was he clean when he fought Duhaupas in the video you posted? No, he wasn’t. And he beat up a guy who took the fight on like 24 hours notice knowing Povetkin was dirty and who didn’t even have proper boxing shoes with him.
