Holly Holm Has Lost Her Title to Miesha Tate!

The takedown and sub attempts were by far the biggest moments of the round which put her ahead imo.

 

I don't know why there is so much hate on Tate. Tate is the only opponent other than Holmes, to have given Rousy very tough matches.

 

Unlike round 2 Meesha was losing a majority of the fifth round. . If Holm was able to hang in to the final buzzer she at worst woulda lost a 10-9 round.
Props to Meesha for listening to her corner and taking chances to get the finish. But for the majority of the fight she was getting handled. As poor as you think Holly's ground game is Meesha proved to be a beached whale on her feet. She was also stuffed a couple times. Meesha is too slow for me to see her winning a rematch. She also has nothing for Ronda

 

Thats a myth that only Meesha fans cling to.

Ronda's only reasonably tough fight prior to Holm was with Liz Carmacho (spelling). Meesha was dominated by Ronda both times. Just because Meesha survived to see a 3rd round doesnt mean she troubled Ronda in any way.

 

Holm didn't score enough in that round to outweigh the significance of being taken down and being put in 2 fight ending chokes. It's the rough equivalent in boxing terms of a fighter outpointing the opponent then getting badly rocked and nearly stopped 2x. Most of the popular opinion on social media that I've read also had Tate leading in the 5th at the point of the finish. Since the judges saw so much value in the groundwork by giving tate a 10-8 round, they most likely would have given her round 5 as well for the draw.

 

Lol, I'm a fan of mma in general and I show no bias towards either woman. I suggest you go watch both matches, especially the 1st. There's a reason Rousy chose to grapple more in the 2nd.

 

Dude you dont get it. Tate grounded Holm fairly early in round 2 n kept her there thats why she deserves 10-8. The fifth saw Tate doing nothing but getting picked apart til about the 2 minute mark. Thats almost 3 minutes of losing the round. You can type how it woulda been a draw til your red in the face. It wont take away from the fact that overall Meesha was getting handled for a large percentage of the 5 rounds.

Props to Meesha for converting on her version of the "Hail Mary" to save her career at the end. But I dont see anyone calling that an even fight up to that point except YOU

 

You should watch the Liz fight. Liz put more stress on Ronda in her one round than Meesha did at any point in her 4 rounds with Ronda. Ronda didnt choose to grapple. Tate went for dumb takedowns then got flipped by Ronda.

Ronda absolutely manhandled Tate in the rematch. Ronda said she prolonged that fight because she wanted to give Tate a beating which is exactly what happened.

 

Some people don't place as high a respect for the runner's philosophy.

 

She had nothing for pre-Holm Ronda on steroids. Current version of Ronda could get beaten by Tate too, Ronda probably walks around 190lbs right now, her invincible aura and confidence are gone and she has been exposed as a horrible striker with bad fight IQ. Miesha fought a lot smarter against Holm. She has better cardio than Ronda, especially now, and bigger heart.

As soon as they started with stricter testing Ronda looks more fat than muscular. She was roided to the gills during her "invincible" run and simply outmuscled other girls. It's impossible for a girl to have such physique without taking anything illegal

 

Holm-Rousey was a fluke. As was Holm-Tate
