Holmes gets too much credit for being dominant in post-ali HW era

Holmes era was beyond terrible

David Haye would have dominated that era, let alone a Klitschko

 

you can't travel in time to a future or past era to face an ATG HW

 

Yes we get it, Holmes was black Marciano was white.....i'm sure you've done this thread a million times.

I prefer Lewis era to Larry's era. But you really have to see how good Larry actually was, it's like a Roy Jones situation.

 

What hurts him is the fact he lost TWICE to a blown up LHW.

 

He didnt dominate.

 

If anything Holmes got a ton of **** for beating a faded, charismatic great. Had Holmes beaten and supplanted pretty much any other heavyweight champion he would have been much better received.

 

Not really, he was old and ripe for the picking by then. Plus most everyone scored the rematch in his favour.

 

But when you beat a legend, you become a legend right? :!:

 

Marciano was white and of Italian heritage. The ultimate Forza fighter.

 

He wasn't prime but he wasn't that far down the road that his skills had declined that much, he should have got the job done the first time round.

 

Hence my line about supplanting Ali. You never want to be the man to follow "The Man." Let's say Holmes dominated a weak era following another heavyweight champ. Think he gets more love? Almost undoubtedly.
