    1. Ali
    2. Lewis
    3. Holmes
    4. Johnson
    5. Louis
    6. Foreman
    7. Holy
    8. Tyson
    9. Bowe
    10. Frazier / Marciano (Tie)

    Note:

Yes, when focused, I truly believe the Lennox Lewis who cameback to KO Hasim Rahman in '01 and the one who KO'd Mike Tyson with little problem in 2002, could probably beat any former heavyweight champion over the last 120 years in a time machine.....

Even the bland showing with David Tua showed just how great of a boxer Lennox Lewis was... NO! The fight itself was not a classic, but it was a virtual shutout..... Lennox Lewis often gets bad press amongst "Nutty" fans for whatever reason, however, the fact still remains Lennox Lewis was great......:bbb

    Note:

Joe Frazier and Rocco Marciano were also great, but I believe that nine guys from the past to the present could beat them two guys in a time machine.....

And, last but not least, The "K" brothers are on the right path to greatness as well..... When they are done fighting, they MIGHT make the top-5...... They'll certainly make the top-10 for sure........:bbb:good

I have Larry Holmes at a solid # 3 on the all-time list........ Holmes had skill and grace, along with speed and good power........ Holmes' Jab is # 1...... Ali's was faster, but Holmes' jab was more of a weapon......

Remember how sharp peak tyson was & I have to disagree that Lewis had better skills, Mike could throw every punch in the book well, he threw with speed, precision & power, he could bob & weave his way inside without taking any flush shots & his stamina was terrific.

Lewis is a dangerous fight for any HWT in a H2H, I respect what he is capable of but Tyson was some package of fighter in his day, no question.

Tyson was some package in his day, but please.......

Firstly, his days were pretty short.

Secondly, once the aura had gone, it was all over.

Ali & Lewis (as examples) managed to re-invent themselves as they got older and avenged defeats. Tyson simply made himself a professional victim and stuck his head in the sand, blaming everyone but himself for his perceived problems, which started from a lack of professionalism and brains.

A terrific frontrunner, as we would say, but once the going got tough from 1990 onwards it was all over.

What did Archie Moore ever achieve at HWT ?

Guys like Tunney, Charles, Bowe, Patterson & either Klitschko have far greater claims for a top 10 spot & none of them make my top 10.

It depends on what you're ranking is based on. Basically I feel there are four ways to rank a fighter. He entire career accomplishments, on a h2h basis, a combination of these two, or how he performed as champion, ie title defenses, quality of opposition.

Tyson does well on one of these lists, which is H2h. His career accomplishments were okay but his time at the top was short. In fact, during his career I think he was one of the very few potentially ATG fighters that was shot longer than he was at his peak. Much the same can be said about Bowe, maybe even Douglas for that matter. Lewis had a far better career, and was a far better champ in terms of longivity than Tyson ever was. And although one can punish Lewis for his two losses, he did avenge them in spectacular style, while Tyson decided to chew off an ear.

There's almost zero consistancy in this list. Is it a career accomplishment list, if so Tyson's too high, Lewis is way to low, and Moore shouldn't even be on there, as he was a lightheavy weight, neither should norton, quarry or bonavena. Jack Johnson should probably be higher, and Liston should be added somewhere

If it's a H2H list, again Lewis is too low, he should at least be close to Tyson, Bowe and the K brothers should probably be added, again Moore goes off it, and it starts to look reasonable. And again, it's pretty hard to have a top 15 list of H2h fighters and not have Liston on it, and personally if it were a H2H list, I'd have Marciano and Frazier, both smaller heavies, down lower.

But anyone's list can be picked to death, so thanks for the effort.
