    30lbs? Basic mathematics says otherwise.
I don't think it's significant and there are many examples in the HW division that bear that out.

I think our wires must be crossed somewhere here. I’m saying Holmes is no chance to blow Tunney out in five or six rounds. Not that he’s going to knock Holmes flying across the ring.

Yes he beat Ali, past it & taking Norton lightly. Then he about drew the rematch, & won the third fight against a totally shot to bits Ali post-Manila. & the rest of his résumé is bordering on zilch.

You picked Tunney's highest and Holmes' lowest.
    If the weight difference isn't significant why did;
    Holyfield
    Usyk
    Spinks
    Moorer

All add weight to compete as heavyweights?
Any examples of a 188lbs man successfully challenging for the heavyweight title since the late 50's?
That is a silly remark which emphaticaly implies extreme bias against Holmes.
Holmes fought 19 ranked heavyweights ,if his resume is bordering on zilch,Tunney's is definitely non existant!

How about you answer my questions?

    Basic mathematics.
    Tunney's average weight as a heavyweight=
    186lbs

Holmes average weight in title fights[1st career] 216lbs
    Weight differential = 30lbs.
End of cherry picking spin .

Going with Holmes on this one--too much size and skill--UD or late stoppage.

I was referring to Norton, not Holmes.

Tunney's average weight at HW was 187.

Holmes fought at or around 210 in quite a fews of his fights so I don't know how that's a 'cherry pick'.

    You should ask them

Dempsey didn't need to pile on weight to beat bigger men, neither did Louis. In fact, Dempsey found the bigger guys easier to dispatch because the were easier to hit.

George Foreman said semi-recently that the small 'pocket sized' heavyweights were better than the big ones.

Very smart to limit your question to post 50s. I'm pretty sure that Cooper was 188lbs when he fought for the title.

You cherry picked when you gave Holmes lowest weight 209lb s and Tunney's highest 192lbs Did you really think I wouldn't notice that?
I gave you Holmes average weight in title fights in his first career.

I could have included his 2 career with fights with Tyson and Holyfield but there was no need.
I also included Holmes 209lbs when he fought Norton which wasn't a defence by Holmes ,but a fight for the vacant title.
Bottom line Holmes has 30lbs on Tunney, 3inches of height and 5 inches of reach that equates to SUBSTANTIAL.

And you have egg on your face.
