Torres blasts Holt to the canvas with an over hand right, Holt gets up but goes down again from a Torres attack, gets up again catches Torres on the ropes and puts him to sleep. Torres slumps to the canvas, his arm still hanging on the rope. Has there been a round better this year.
headbut unfortunate, but Torres was gettin wild in there, he got what he dished out, Torres, man he's got heavy hands...
Best Turnaround of the year, but there have been some other great rounds that were more technical and to me more fun to watch. Still, I'll take this ShoBox anytime.
I think it was round 3 (maybe 4) in Vasquez-Marquez 3 that was the best I had seen until this. I can't remember it all that well so I'll have to watch it again to see if it's a better round than this. But this round was as explosive a round you can ask for and it was at the top level of the sport. The knockout should be a contender for knockout of the year too. I expected Torres to get up but he was out, totally unconscious. Did not even consider this as a result.
Yeah, Vasquez/Marquez III was a brilliant combination of technical boxing and brutal fighting. I believe that trilogy exceeds any other trilogy this decade, including Barrera/Morales.
Braindead swinging of arms (and heads), barely qualifies as boxing and not remotely reminiscent of the dramatic Corrales/Castillo or Gatti/Ward proverbial rounds.
Both of them got careless and sloppy which lead to a few early KD's in the first.. Unfortunately that's where the fight ended.. Definitely one of the rounds of the year, but like I've been saying in almost every thread dealing with Holt-Torres, I want to see an immediate rubber match.. That's if Torres doesn't have a concussion now..
