From ESPN: When Top Rank made a deal with Showtime to air the rubber match between junior welterweight titlist Kendall Holt and ex-titleholder Ricardo Torres on Dec. 13, it was only the first step in a longer-range plan. A key part of the negotiation between Top Rank and Showtime for the fight was that the winner agree to next face fellow titleholder Timothy Bradley on Showtime in the first half of 2009, according to Top Rank president Todd duBoef and Bradley promoter Gary Shaw. Bradley would likely face the winner in April, Shaw said. Sounds good. Torres v Bradley would be a cracking fight.
Bradley probably beats either one. His chin is good enough to stand up to Torres and outwork him, and he's a better boxer than Holt.
I feel Bradley beats both of them but they are both interesting h2h match ups that would bring some legit unification to 140 pound division.
I think both matchups are interesting for Bradley, for different reasons. Bradley would be a level ahead of Torres in skills and would counter punch the **** out of him but Ricardo's power would be an awesome equalizer. The Holt matchup could be very interesting...the rangy Holt certainly could give the stocky Bradley some grief..Plus I dont think Tim has the punch to exploit Holt's most glaring weakness...his less than granite chin. I would certainly expect Bradley to start fav in both fights however.
I could see Torres-Bradley being really fun while it lasts. In a way it'd be like Torres-Holt except instead of a rangy sharp punching shaky chinned Holt, you'd have a quicker, more active and sturdier Bradley. Bradley-Holt would be one of those technique/defensive fights that all those purists geek and gawk over. Either fight is good for me.
:yep I like all styles though, all of those possible matchups sound great. And btw Holt by UD in the rubber match
