The second fight between them lasted only 61 seconds.Holt was drop twice and torres one time for the count. Even though the replay show that a head butt started ricardo on the road to defeat. on december 13 they will rumble for the third and hopefully the final time.when they fought the first time,it was controversial points victory for torres. once this third fight is settle,I think the winner should fight the winner of hatton- malignaggi,or maybe fight Timothy Bradley:bbb
i still think this fight could go either way. love to see another blowout though. winner of this vs bradly would be a *******....
Not really, that is what made it so bad...Cats were throwing beer cans at holt, and the ref made a very very bad stoppage....I think that torres got WAXED, head butt or no that was one helluva right hand shot that ended the night, too many people forget that it was a right hand that ended that fight and not a headbutt. Torres and his fans need to stop cring cuz without the beer cans he likely wouldnt have won the first fight.:good
how about they just continue to fight each other for the rest of there careers....and forget about fighting anyone else if they fight 50 times Torres will win 25 and Holt will win 25....they're pretty even fighters, Knockout power and glass jaws.....what more can you ask for in an exciting fight?
If you watched the 2nd fight and not just the highlights, you would know that Torres was whuppin' his ass, well on the way to another KO when Holt (accidentally?) headbutted the **** out of him, then KOed him. That butt more then stunned him, if fukked him up.
The headbutt clearly hurt Torres in the second fight which stunned him and left him open to that right Holt threw.. Was one hell of a first round though.. I believe the third fight can go either way, but it's ending by KO.. War Torres!!
In reply to the previous poster, there is more chance of hell freezing over than the winner of this fighting Ricky Hatton. It will be Hatton vs DLH/Pac in March/April :deal
Torres was laying a beat down him before he won the lottery with that butt. Holt is bordering on glass jawed, I would pick Torres barring anything stupid happening again.
• When Top Rank made a deal with Showtime to air the rubber match between junior welterweight titlist Kendall Holt and ex-titleholder Ricardo Torres on Dec. 13, it was only the first step in a longer-range plan. A key part of the negotiation between Top Rank and Showtime for the fight was that the winner agree to next face fellow titleholder Timothy Bradley on Showtime in the first half of 2009, according to Top Rank president Todd duBoef and Bradley promoter Gary Shaw. Bradley would likely face the winner in April, Shaw said.
